Are those concrete sinks in the bathrooms? They look like concrete. Very trendy if so.

It's very hard to tell. I studied the pic from my earlier post and it was inconclusive even at full resolution. I'll try and remember to check next time I go.

The refurb focused on both things... badly.
There's usually only one refurb a year. That's why it needed to be done correctly.

I don't know how you could possible know if they were working on the mechanics of it since most of it is hidden "backstage". It can't be painted every year though.

Did any hear about anything regarding wi-fi in the parks? I haven't heard anything about in a while, and I wonder if any of you guys know how it's progressing.

Checked this past weekend. Found SSIDs VIP, UOEVENT and a few with cryptic names. Nothing to indicate public WiFi yet.

Other than that I have no info at this time.

The refurb would of been more for the mechanics of the ride. Not so much cosmetic.

Are you arguing with yourself? Weird. :look: Either way, I'm concerned with the crappy paint job, not whatever (relatively minimal) upkeep the ride system required.

It can be, and it is. It's a necessary part of rehabbing a water ride due to the extra weathering. Doing it properly isn't cost prohibitive either. This isn't Six Flags.

This.

Popeye, for my money, is the premier raft ride in the US. Treating it as such should be a top priority. We all get on Disney when they don't properly fix things like Splash Mountain, we should get on Universal for not properly fixing things as well.

Has anyone been on the ride to see what hasn't been fixed? I'm just curious.

Well, most of the paint issues are at or below the water line so it will not be grossly apparent unless they have an e-stop. I just got it in my head that they were going to go right to town on it.

NO I was refering to your comment saying that did both poorly. So you said they did both the mechanics and the cosmetic work poorly. Also it really isn't an issue its not all that bad. Its not Splash Mountain issues, and it wont get to that level. I am not saying they couldn't of done better I am just saying that it is unreasonable at this stage to expect it to have a major paint job, with everything else going on. Expecially when they will want everything in perfect condition for Potter in a few years, so they might as well give it a little longer so it doesn't wear away by the time it opens.

Ride Popeye in the middle of a Florida Winter?? ;) I haven't rode it recently so I wouldn't be of much use if I did.

When did smashing quarters become a thing? Pennies I get...

That makes no sense really. I guess some things could look better silver but who wants to crush 25 cents when other(most machines) let you pay 50 cents to crush and waste an extra once cent? Since they are destroying the third quarter they make no extra profit off the deal. That is indeed dumb.
