Interesting! Have they ever replaced the cable or do they always just trim and cut?

Its been replaced but it its more common to trim. It's a HUGE wheel and replacing the cable is much more work than trimming it. It was trimmed once when I was working there (I hated trying to line up those gates in Kings Cross. It seemed the positions for trains 1 and 2 changed every day)

It's just like a skyride-- adjust the cable periodically, then full replacement every so many years.
