Add a giant projection mapped minion on the building and I think you got it.

World of Color’s fountain system is much more advanced than the Bellagio’s.

I’m being led to believe the scaffolding is temporary

For reference here's what world of color looks like with the water level lowered:

Much easier to service than if the equipment was sitting right on the floor of the lagoon.

Wow! That is fugly when not operating I bet. Oh well...the lagoon "was" pretty.

To clarify WoC has a raising and lowering platform with three modes
  • a stealth mode where everything, including all fountain heads
  • show mode, as seen in Alicia's photo
  • maintenance mode, seen above, where the equipment can be accessed for repair/maintenance

That looks more appropriate, given that it is grated for water to pass through it. The stuff they got in the lagoon now looks more like scaffolding pieces to me.

Yes, that's a permanent setup. Scaffolding that sits under water would become slimy and be unsafe to service.

Maybe the scaffolding is just to help load in the actual structure that will be used to handle show equipment? At this point, I've given up on what this could be lol.

Was just going to chime in with that! The water in that photo is not low, they just raised the platform to Maintenance level.

I wonder if those elements are going to be used in the Orlando night show (the projection mapping I mean)

Tried looking for an aerial shot of World Of Color to compare but none show the lagoon with the platforms visible.

I still don’t buy that those platforms are temporary. There is just no logical reason for them to otherwise be there other than they will somehow be part of the show. There, I’ve said my piece.

DCA's viewing area overlayed on top of USF's site. And WOC platform over the lagoon.

It's amazing when you think how huge the WOC platform is. If they built anything similar at USF size wise the audience would get soaked :O.

Hell, you get pretty wet at DCA depending on where you stand.

Oh for sure, but there's still a wee bit more room between you and the water infrastructure haha.

Depending on the day, you can get pretty wet just by the "100 years" fountains. . . I know it's happened to me once standing near the Earthquake restaurant's pier.
