Yeah, this won’t even come close to WOC. This looks like it is shaping up to be OK at best.

I'm not ready to say at it's best it'll only be okay. I'm not convinced WOC is the best comparison for the show, as I've heard it'll have lots of other pieces other than the fountains. Until they actually give some detail on the show, I'm keeping an open mind.

But WOC is the best nightshow ever (IMO), and I just don't see Uni topping it

Because you've seen one fountain test? Seems overly negative to say that this early.

Love that they left the product box out on site:

I’ll settle for good. Uni hasn’t been able to put together a competent night show yet. I can’t imagine they’d be able to top WOC.

I'm skeptical. It looks like one of those pre-made fountain/firework setups in RCT3. It's a smallish rectangle in a huge lake. It should've extended all the way around to London.

I'm going to choose to remain positive instead of decide it's bad before I see anything, really. I'm happy they're investing in this.

Didn't we all try to remain positive for supercharged? As Jungleskip said, I think it'll be okay at best BUT why not go grand?! They should've drained the lake and went all in.

I agree, WOC is incredible and the large scale of the experience adds a lot to it. This is what, half the size? Being more intimate might add something but I doubt it.

I don’t agree it should have gone to London. Show needs a dedicated viewing angle. Using the whole lagoon is why their other shows were all so disorganized

And please. No one was staying positive RE: F&F

Again, this will have more outside the lagoon than WOC does. It’s not the same show setup

How so? The whole Ferris wheel, and California Sreamin light up? Little globes also pop up from the water along with fire.

Universal hasn't really advertised this. Which is weird considering we are less than two months away.

Ferris wheel, Cali, and the globe lights in the viewing area (rip fountains in the viewing area) for WoC. Sounds like this will have projection mapping all around, fireworks, and maybe drone(s)?

Since WOC has the luxury of space, they could have bigger screens, fountains and fire effects, so they don’t really need the extras. They’d be nice but not needed.

All the rumours about drones and fireworks is giving more punch to the smaller area and drones are a relatively new concept for this kind of experience. If it’s executed well, it could have the pontential to be groundbreaking.

Right, WOC doesn't need the projection mapping and fireworks like this show does, because the DCA lagoon has a bigger space for a dedicated viewing angle show. Uni seems to be trying to make more of a hybrid with this rather than completely water based. We'll see if they can pull it off.

I don't know everything about this show, but I do know some things, and what I have heard makes this show different and what sounds like it will be fun. No, you're right that it's not the biggest or any "est" but why does it have to be for us to all approve it and like it?

Why does it HAVE to be bigger than World of Color? Does that make it good? If all you care about is constantly being impressed by scale and don't care about content then ok. I for sure don't see it that way.

It used to be the same thing with coasters. For years, parks battled to have the tallest or longest coaster, and then one day someone decided to just get back to making something fun and we got great coasters like Maverick and Outlaw Run and Full Throttle. None of those compete for any prize yet are fun and incredibly enjoyable attractions. Now we are in a renaissance of good and fun coasters around the world where the theme and experience come first.

For this show, if it has a great story or experience that makes me feel good and emotional, then it is a success. It doesn't matter if it has less fountains, size, whatever. The fact is, Universal hasn't made a good night show before, ever. From everything many of us have heard, this will be both the first real nighttime show by any measure, and people believe it will be good. Already that's a huge win on the first account. We'll see on the second, but I'm going to remain optimistic until I see it.

I'm for sure not going to pan them during construction because I saw some pictures without context and assume it's going to disappoint me.

Pardon a bit of crudeness, but why does this show have to be a dick-measuring contest to World of Color, when we know that the show will be done in a way that goes very much away from what WDI/WET did back in 2010?

This show, in my eye's, needs to be put on a different level, and not of that of the scale to what World of Color did for Nighttime shows at theme parks. Now, I am not saying that means they lessen it's effect, but they need to focus on the overall picture of the show. It's why I am more fine with what they are doing, as long as it's done not only effectively, but tastefully, to become something unique and something that can be seen on it's own barriers.

The mix of Water, Projection's (Water Screen/Projection Mapping), Fireworks, lighting effects, and possibly a drone should be more than enough to not only diversify this show from the rest, but be an interesting challenge for Universal to accomplish.

But hey, what do I know.

I mean, I personally feel that Happily Ever After is the best theme park night show, but whatever

This will be a nighttime show that Universal feel comfortable to advertise....People will stay later I think...Mission accomplished

World of color looks to have 10 times the number of fountains. I'm not sure any amount of other effects can make up for that in this show that I could consider it as good or better.

Again, if all you care about is "how much stuff" or "how big" then yeah. But shows can be good regardless of budget or equipment. If all you want is to be impressed by scale you're looking in the wrong place. You're always going to be disappointed.

You can program a show well on a lower budget but at a point scale will always win.

Yes WOC is a Wonderful Show but we all know this won't be the same number of fountains as WOC so why are we comparing the two????

There's not even a WOC in Orlando and I don't think USF is going to draw people from DCA for this show. Maybe Ignite if USF can get it open this summer!

I have come to the conclusion that universal could build the biggest, baddest, most amazing show planet earth has ever seen. With a fountain that shot water on the moon and there would be people posting on hear how Disney's blank, blank and blank is still better.

Their are people already comparing a show that they have not seen with another show 2,000 miles away.

Why waste your time being so negative. Just go to Disney, pay no attention to Universal and be happy.

Regardless of what they make the water do, I look forward to hearing the scores they are recording for this...seeing if UoR finally fixed the in park sound system...maybe see if they tied park lighting into the same system....to me, past shows have shown how outdated USF’s infrastructure is, I am hoping they have been working on stuff like that...anyway, folks have posted on here about the teases from the recording studio and I look forward to hearing what they have come up with!

You mean like how the park lighting goes off at completely different times and how the music can be ridiculously muffled in some places. I agree on both accounts. If this show starts with all the lights going dim at the same time to the score, then they’ll already be starting on a good foot.
