Unfortunately that happens as often as it doesn't happen. Epic will be not-so-epic, until they get maintenance adequate and consistent.

Yeah... land is very much style over substance, IMO.

Yoshi isn’t worth more than a 10-15 minute wait anyways IMO. You’re not missing anything

It's the reality of the situation and you have a leg up on the competition being a forum member and not total GP newb.

It's always a good idea to pivot and come back later when something's offline. Doing the shows earlier in the day too means you'll have more time for rides later as everyone starts to leave in the afternoon.

Will have a longer post after our trip, but after my third visit to Epic (first in May 2025 preview, second late September, and now 4/12/2026) there’s no way I’d pay to upgrade my AP (as an out of tower) . Until there is 1, if not 2, expansion build outs, this park can barely handle the current capacity restraints. MK, BatM, DK, and Werewolf were consistently 60-75+ minutes, with DK and BatM being closer to 100-110 all day.

Such a beautiful park. Berk is fantastic. Darkmoor + Frankenstein Manor is great (Werewolf was a big miss).

SNW, as much as I hate to say it, was a miss. Severely under built, when talking about capacity. MK is fine, but I feel like a slow moving AR ride wasn’t the tech for an IP based around racing. DKMM is just an absolute disaster. No other way to put it. At least when HMCMBA had its issues, the ride was top notch when it was up and running. DK is FUN! But not 100+ minutes fun. I get off DKMM and have the same feeling as when I get off Tron (that was it???). One bathroom in the entire land? No one at Universal Creative chimed in when this was drawn up? Finally, did we really need the expansion pad between SNW and DU? Should’ve just built out SNW and added another ride. The land is just wayyy too small/crammed.. and that’s at our CURRENT lower capacity levels

Harry Potter land is the worst of the 3 (Diagon and Hogsmeade). There’s just not much to do here if you don’t want to a) wait nearly 2 hours for BatM, b) wait for the show that has its own set of technicals difficulties at times. I know the expansion pad will help , but as is currently constructed, there’s a LOT of empty space here.

All in all, beautiful layout and design, but it’s just severely underbuilt to handle the capacity that Universal execs want to get to. There’s no way, unless they’re ok with getting bombarded by negative reviews for the insane wait times. (Express passes were $300 on Sunday!!!)

Its extremely interesting the difference in responses regarding DKMM in Japan vs the responses in the states as it is the same ride....did something go wrong when building it in Orlando?

Does SNW get the same crowds in Japan that Epic usually sees in the states?

I’ve seen so many videos of this land and every time I see it it’s crowded beyond disbelief. That ride seems to be constantly stretched beyond its capacity.

I think part of it is just the cultural difference in how lines are viewed (1hr+ is just kind of expected over there for many things (based on personal observation and my limited experience), while over here anything over 20-30 minutes is viewed as an intolerable barrier to be avoided at all costs), but also maybe there’s differences in expectations given the location of being in a brand new park vs expansion of an existing park and area.

I believe SNW at USJ is still using timed entry tickets (or Express passes for an attraction) for entry to the land, so it is definitely still seeing high demand over there. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if their overall attendance in the land is far above Epic’s. If you say Epic does 30k/day across an entire year that’s just shy of 11mil, where USJ supposedly did 16mil in 2023. Even bumping up to 35k/day puts you at a little under 13mil. Epic would have to do about 44k/day for yearly volume similar to USJ as of 2023.
