Will be interested to see how full Dock Side is this fall ... could be an indicator if they need to open an Epic hotel before the park itself.

I imagine the hotel schedule is pretty well set at this point.

They definitely won't be opening any epic hotels before late 2024 because the road access won't be done before then.

However, it wouldn't surprise me if they opened a hotel or two in the months leading up to the park opening day so they can settle into routine operation before said opening day.

They should hold ground breaking ceremonies for the hotels, especially if Loews group is involved.

Free hype for Epic and doesn't give away any park secrets.

Alicia mentions it near the end of the article- Wondering what the chances are they open up 912 in 2024 to give more living space for guests.
If the timeline on the FAA obstruction evaluation is at all accurate, then P912 should definitely be ready for guests in 2024 and it wouldn't make sense to build it this early if it wasn't going to welcome guests in 2024.

However, it's not clear that road access will be done by 2024, the hotel would just be overlooking a construction site at that point, and the FAA OEs shouldn't be taken as a definitive source schedule.

Thing is though, they wouldn't even need Kirkman to be finished, just build an entrance from Universal Blvd.

Plus, when Endless Summer first opened, some Surfside guests would be looking over Dockside's construction site, so they have done it before (granted, this would be a much bigger construction site, but you get what I mean).

"Just build an entrance from Universal Blvd" is not a trivial task when the long term plan (and therefore the building orientation) calls for the entrance to be on the opposite side of the property off of [checks notes] Epic Boulevard.

In an interview with the Sentinel, a spokesperson for the county said the Kirkman extension will be done by 2024.

Wasn’t it originally suppose to be complete by 2025 ?

So I’m guessing construction has sped up on the road ?

The updated proposal (after start of pandemic) said it would be ready BY Spring 2025, as in has to be done by then at the latest. The Sentinel interview after that in January was the first time we heard the county admit they’re planning to actually finish in late 2024, ahead of the deadline.

Late 2024 still doesn't really line up with how P912 could be done much earlier in 2024.

I think 912 could open first, yes. 913 is still too far behind so no.
Is it likely that both 910 and 913 open in 2025? Or will they want to limit hotel openings to one per year?

910 (that’s the one at the back of the park right?) has to be opening with the park. So maybe late 2024/Early 2025?

910 will probably open with the park. 913 may be saved for later (maybe the following year?). 912 CAN open before the park, but we don't know if it will.
