That older Universal Studios app UI was so straightforward—everything from wait times for the Jurassic Park ride to attraction filters was right there without modern clutter or endless pop-ups. It's crazy how much mobile design has changed over the years, sometimes for the worse.

Like USO, overcomplicated, confusing and takes too long to find stuff.

Another thing I find annoying is how there's no way to view the park operating hours unless the park is open. So when the park is closed, the hours tab disappears. Am I dumb or is there another way to view the hours?

The official app is definitely worth having if you're spending a full day at Universal Studios Hollywood. The wait times and GPS map are probably the most useful features, especially when you're trying to decide whether it's worth crossing the park for a ride.


The itinerary and show reminders are handy too, but I'd still keep an eye on the actual posted schedules since attraction times can change during the day. The parking reminder is one of those features that sounds trivial until you're trying to remember where you left the car after several hours in the park.


I'd also download everything before arriving and make sure location services are enabled, rather than trying to set it all up once you're inside.
