How much would you be willing pay for a USH annual pass with no black out dates and parking included? $1000 a year? Curious what folks here would be willing to fork over...

I'd say $520 to be honest. USH isn't USO in the terms of attraction offerings, due to the space and capacity issues rolled into one.

With that; you can offer this,

* 365 Day Admission to Universal Studios Hollywood (No Blackouts)

* Free Front of The Line (On Select Days) two hours before closure

* Free Self Parking (No Valet and Peferred; unless considering additional upcharge for Parking to 60 dollars)

* Discounts on Select Merchandise/Dining options (Exclude select Potter items, like Butterbeer, E.T.C.)

* Free Horror Nights Ticket (Thursday or Sunday nights only)

To be honest; I can fork over over 500 for an Pass, especially if they do offerings like that to where it'd be justifiable.

I'd also place for all APS, some sort of appreciation month; like Orlandos but albeit a bit more condensed. You can do special shows with Q&As, special tours; and early ERTS in the morning for AP holders; that'd be fair and reasonable.

Sorry for going off topic but I respectfully disagree. They would not expand both Universal Studios Stores (and adding a third) if demand for Potter merch was not high. The money they have made from Feature Presentation is insane.

Expanding the studio stores & remodeling them means nothing, it was something that needed to be done anyway. Also, it is the studios store, of course it will have Potter merch, the whole purpose is to sell merchandise from every ride/attraction within it so guests can grab last minute souvenirs without having to go all the way back to that particular ride to get said item. Whether its Minion merch or Potter merch, neither belong on the Lower Lot. And as I've stated multiple times... Potter merch has been available for years & can be bought elsewhere, unless it specifically says "Hollywood" on it (which I doubt much does).

Don't mistake store expansions & IP merch swapping as "demand" for it because it is nothing more than Universal shoving it in people's faces to con them into buying something. Its greed, not guest demand.

As for AP's go... those are not enough benefits for $500... this is USH we're talking about... the overpriced) Dining/Retail & 3D/simulator capitol of the world... I love Universal, I love the park... but it is not worth that price, even the current prices are pushing it.

Disney merchandise is sold in every mall on the planet and they still do very brisk business in their parks. Consumer demand grows for products while in the environment. Same reason you buy a mini Eiffel Tower while visiting Paris. A con would be if you were being sold a false set of goods, which is not the case here. The customer is getting what they want.

Stylowtrix said:
As I previously pointed out, it's $420 a year for TWO theme parks in Orlando... and they have so many more attractions and offerings than us it's not even funny. So with that said, I wouldn't be willing to pay more than $400 for a true top tier pass that included what you listed. In fact, I think $375 would be the most I would be willing to pay.

A more apt price comparison would be Disneyland vs. USH, since they occupy basically the same tourist region. A Disneyland pass without blockout dates costs $1049. If you say that's for two parks, then split it in half to get $535 for USH. If you were willing to give up the end of the year holiday on blackouts, then half of Disneyland's $830 pass, or $415. I'm not saying this is what you should be willing to pay -- only you can answer that. I'm saying what that's the comparison the park would likely consider when pricing.

So the question is, how many $415-$535 annual passes would USH sell (especially without Front of Line option)? If not many, then you have your reason why it's not offered. If you would do it, I suggest voicing that to Universal.

I have stated my opinions before, but this is a viable option I would like to see:

$599

*365 days of admission

*Free parking before 5pm

*15% discount on food and merchandise

*One free admission to HHN on a non peak night.

*FOL access beginning 2 hours before park closes.

Add on:

$35 for unlimited photos with Amazing Pictures for the life of the pass

$99 for unlimited Valet Parking upgrade

3 consecutive years of annual pass membership offers 1 free VIP tour.

^Chris, don't worry about your job interview. You're hired for marketing. :) That is a good option at a fairly appropriate price.

Where do I sign on the dotted line? I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

Universal has to remember one thing also. While they may be expanding and growing, they also have to remember that Disneyland will ALSO be expanding and growing, and I'm not just talking about Star Wars! USH should still see themselves as a better priced option in SoCal with equal or better AP perks.

..hehe..i think Chris and I have similar to same offerings, in some way. But that I can see, as that would work for a good price.

THIS.I don't understand why they don't use plastic cards?! Six Flags even uses those. USH is the only park I know that has paper passes.

Universal Orlando, SeaWorld, and Busch Parks use paper passes as well.

My goal for the pass would be to offer the premium upgrades as an additional fee and offer longevity for those die hard fans who continue to purchase year over year because they will be rewarded with a new experience in the future.

^ According to the park calendar, early entry is one hour early for AT LEAST the rest of 2016, starting 4/7.

If we have a Costco or other annual pass that we planned to start or use on one of these days, do we miss out on early park admission?

Note: also says "to select park area." Must include Hogsmeade, right? Don't see them letting people in early only to start a queue in front of Hogsmeade for an hour... I hope.

And perhaps not to buy an annual pass if this means you are guaranteed to be late every day. Hopefully this is only to exclude those arriving without any kind of pass at all from getting in early.

EDIT: We're off to a flying start -- just called guest relations and they said they'd get back to me, since they weren't aware the park was going to start opening earlier.

Guest relations just told me that any valid tickets or passes purchased through the official Universal Studios Hollywood website (http://www.universalstudioshollywood.com/) would be granted the early admission benefit. By definition, that EXCLUDES the Costco passes (or any other outside vendor facilitated passes or tickets).

The good news is that I was able to get my Costco pass refunded since I haven't used it yet.
