IDK about the trees. They always remove them MG, HHN, and Christmas.

Yes, it's probably a headache to move them for Macys/Halloween

Perhaps something smaller and faux

The planters and dirt for the trees are still there. Just covered with benches

I think they're still adding something to the orange strip around the queue awning.

Sounds like that won't take long. Hopefully the walls come down shortly followed by tech rehersals!

I won't lie, I don't like the end result. It looks very very cheap. I hate the colors and the banners. It looks evens worse knowing this is what draws you in when entering USO. I think this is the first big downgrade Universal did of any attraction building.
I hope the attraction is fun.

Shrek really didn’t look any better or worse.

True, but that was another era. I hold everything after Potter to a higher standard. Comcast has a ton of money and their parks are doing much better than when Shrek was introduced in the Hitchcock theater. Because of that I call it a huge downgrade.

I'd rather have some nice facades like Osaka & Hollywood...but....Villain Con , like most conventions, should be set in a Convention Center. And a lot
of Convention Centers look like a Sound Stage building. So that part works for me. Seems like Universal just won't completely
abandon the Sound Stage concept that the original park was based on. After all, it's still named "Universal Studios Florida". I expect more immersion in IOA, and it stays pretty close to that concept. Two parks. Two different concepts. That part works for me. ....But, as I've often said, I'd personally prefer if the main entrance was more directed towards Hollywood, and that would remain in the scope of the original park concept. ...Just my random personal thoughts on the attraction layout.

Unless this attraction also contains large and expansive street sets, plus a cast of dozens of animated figures, it poses no danger to the relevance of MIB.

This won't be like Midway Mania and Web Slingers basically being the same ride over in California Adventure.

I think it looks quite tacky.

Now, that may be somewhat intentional, but I don't love it as the first impression for the park.

I think with the Minion’s cafe facade, there will be something for everyone.

I mean, what else did we expect? It's in a tough spot for a massive redo unless it's closed for 2-3 years and this has been the general look of the area since park open...

Personally, i really like the look of the soundstages now. They put more work into this than I expected.
I’m against Universal removing the soundstage look unless they rename the theme park. If you remove the soundstages, then the theme park no longer looks like a studios. Removing the soundstages, they need to rename the park to Cities of Adventure or something tacky like that.

In my opinion, I think this is a winner for Universal. There are hardly any attractions for the little ones to enjoy in the park besides the shows. This adds something for them. Also since children are most likely the targeted audience for this attraction, the colors selected are perfect with these colors eliciting excitement from children. The kids will be thrilled as soon as they enter the park!

The cafe and possibly dessert shop are going to be an even nicer addition. I only wish they decorate the betty boop shop with some minions on a sign and added a minions fountain or sculpture in that corner next to the shop.
Overall, i think Universal is doing a great job and excited to see this in the fall!

If they are going to use the same type of curved immersive screen tech from Pets and USB JW Adventure, this sounds like it will be more interesting than Web Slingers.

What I expect and what I want are two different things!

The exterior is about what I expected, yes.

I would've liked them to have done a full redo, but long ago came to terms with the fact that that was just not gonna happen. With that in mind, I sorta like what we got! I think it's a pretty cute concept that actually works off pre-established in-universe story beats. I think I actually like it more than I expected to?

i would rather have so-called "cities of adventure" over ugly soundstages, but that's just me :)

Chris Meledandri told Bloomberg he is working on animation for a new attraction with 20 minutes. Is this the attraction or is there another Illumination attraction we don't know about?

We’ve done over 20 collaborations with Universal theme parks. We’re working on one right now including 20 minutes of original animation. We have a group inside the company that has collaborated closely on all of those attractions. Bloomberg - Are you a robot?
