That would make too much sense.

Well, there is a whole Toy Story land in one park and a Buzz Lightyear ride in another.

A whole Star Wars land in one park and a separate Star wars ride in the same park.

You have Voyage of the little Mermaid in one park and Journey of the Little Mermaid in another.

Tentatively, you have a Villains show coming to one park and Villainsland coming to another.

I think they can get away with Scar in Villainsland and in DAK.

Is this a criticism, because this seems like a description of most modern Fantasyland-style lands.

Not a criticism unless you think it’s a negative.

I honestly figured as much regarding Facilier. I always believed the "Timeline" excuse for Tiana's was just a PR answer to hide the actual reason: Disney doesn't want to deal with portraying voodoo anymore. As cultural conversations and tastes shift into the future, Disney is future-proofing these E-Tickets that will last for decades by making sure they don't have to redo huge scenes like Trader Sam's.

Ursula has a huge Poor Unfortunate Souls show scene in Voyage just a few meters away in the same park. As much as I'd love it to be smoke for TLK at AK, I don't think it amounts to much as evidence.

It’s going to be a mismatch of villain scenery and appearances. Hook’s ship parked beneath Gothel’s tower, with Maleficent’s thorns surrounding it all. Nearby, in a little Bavarian-esque village, Cruella’s clothing store will sit next to the Evil Queen’s “Be-witching” snack shop and Gaston’s Hunting Lodge.

Sounds perfect. But weave a quasi-bare steel double launched coaster with one barrel roll around the left side.

It may not be a simple 1:1 here, however I’ve thought about this land a bit yesterday, and this is essentially going to be our Fantasy Springs. The main ride should absolutely be the Peter Pan ride system. It’s going to be a complicated E ticket with MANY characters, this ride system feels the best way to handle that, and would be unique to Magic Kingdom. Take the Tangled Boat Ride and make it either Ursula, Hook, or Scar themed. Instead of the Frozen boat ride, give us a massive roller coaster. Maybe not quite in terms of height/drop wise, make it Expedition Everest in scale and story wise. I think they absolutely have potential here with that being their base ideas.

Some random rambling, but it’s helping me envision this land a lot better.

I would be okay with this, however don’t give any ideas for WDW to use a VQ for the land itself like Fantasy Springs did/does.

I would hope for something a little bigger than the Fantasy Springs Peter Pan ride to anchor this land.

I want HUGE sets and AAs.

I just wonder what tone they set with a Villain’s Land? They can’t go “scary” since it’s Disney. All of the Villains shows they’ve done are essentially the same villains “let’s get together and do bad things”, then a Disney hero who often has no connection to the Villain saves the day sending the Villains off to lick their wounds only to return another day. I just feel like there’s not a lot to do that isn’t already Phantasmic or any other show they’ve done with Villains already.

Give me a highly themed coaster and a Shanghai Pirates level boat ride and you would have the makings of a GREAT land.

IMO a ROTR tier trackless ride should be the E ticket for the Villains land. The Shanghai pirates tech more than likely is going to make its way to WDW, but I personally think that should be attached to a Moana ride.

That $25 - $50 million number is presumably just the budget to get the land ready for construction, I would guess.

Speculating here but I wonder if some of the back and forth with SFWMD on the Rivers of America infill was that Disney was asking for laydown yards and water management changes for Cars *and* Villains Land and SFWMD may have said "Look, you need to make your full intentions clear because you're being unclear about scope" essentially. In other words, I wonder if they had to "make official" the Villains project from a planning standpoint so SFWMD had context.

Posted this in the Cars land thread but since its also related to this land, it deserves to be posted here as well.
