Wow it feels like Christmas coming home to all of this info after work! This all looks and sound beyond better than anything I was imagining.

I think this is either of the following:
  • Maku: North America’s first “saucer ride”, sending multi-passenger rafts speeding around three saucer-shaped curves.
  • Puihi: A breath-taking multi-passenger raft ride that will plunge you into darkness before bursting into a funnel and launching into a zero-gravity drop.
Look at the size of the slide sections, they are huge in comparison to the already constructed slide to the right of the image, I guess that suggests its for a multi-passenger raft ride. There are clearly two main curves there and it looks reasonably short so one more curve to the bottom and that could be the Saucer ride?

I think those pieces spiralling out are the water coaster. I am actually thinking that perhaps first four slides that went up may be the saucer, seems like that layout would lend itself to what Hockeyman showed.

Anyone else originally read Ko'okiri as Kokiri and think Zelda? :)

There is a new green slide going up here.

VB New Slide.PNG

Couldn't get a photo today but will try to get one tomorrow.

The rendered Cabana Bay towers look absolutely gorgeous and will have the best views in the entire resort.

New Question....I know there was plans for this park to be able to stay open late but I can't see a way to do that especially on the beach without looking overly gross and ugly with high powered overhead florescent lights or a light up floor for the wave pool. Did the staying open late plan get nixed?

The attraction synopses page specifically mentions the nighttime lava effects, so I doubt it.

Talk of nighttime lava effects plus the fact that it looks like the clear tubes(currently white wrapped) are the high drops inside the volcano got me thinking....any chance of an LED lighting system wrapping these slides inside the volcano? Simulate flying through lava?

It would be cool if they had an after 5pm ticket option..I would love to do a day at the parks and then chill at VB until 9 or 10

After reading the slide descriptions I would believe that the first four slides that were put up (the four green and blue ones) are Taniwha Tubes (Four unique Easter Island inspired slides). The other set of slides closer to where the volcano is (the four black, yellow, and orange ones) are Punga Racers (High-speed race slides using a manta-shaped raft). The white ones must be the three body slides with the drop doors inside the volcano.

I'm guessing this is what the saucer slide will look like. Seems kind of gimmicky to me.

The UOR Blog has been updated with information on Volcano Bay..

They also gave out descriptions of what will be in the lands..and boy.

Marketing may of not been kidding with the 18 attractions...and that's not considering that there apparently is a expansion planned.

Here is what I figure those slides will be:

Honu: TornadoWall + TornadoWall Hybrid.

Maku: North America THIRD Flying Saucer ride. Why lie already Universal? Super Aqua Club in Quebec and Beech Bend in Kentucky are in North America.

Puihi: A Tornado followed by either an unknown element or a drop.

According to Proslide though...the only other one in the world is in Siam Park Spain.

I'm wondering if Universals will be an uphill watercoaster version like Singha though...and maybe the other two are just normal slides with the saucers. Beech Bends doesn't look like it has any uphill sections, and I can't really tell about Super Aqua Clubs.

Have you been on a ProSlide before? They are mind bogglingly good. I rode the two at Holiday World and love them.

Those are definitely the best two water coasters I've ridden.

I'd rank their Proslide's Black Anaconda(at Noah's Ark in Wisconsin) my third favorite.

Proslide knows how to make a thrilling and long ride!

Super Aqua Club is an expanded version of Singha, also built on a hill and it is currently under construction opening in July. How the ride came about is that the owner rode Singha last year and after the first ride, called Proslide to order!

Beech Bend has no uphill segments and like Volcano Bay, 3 Saucer elements.

Perhaps Universal claim of first is outdated? It was correct when they ordered, but Proslide sold two for 2016.

From what I was shown, I would say 6-8 acres. Not my info so I will let someone else here show you if he/she wants to.

Minus parking, I believe they are virtually the same. ;) Let me retrieve a picture I created a LONG time ago.

Here it is, a comparison to Blizzard Beach:
