I love how lush Volcano Bay is already starting to look. That last picture that Teebin quoted looks already very promising in respect to the level of foliage we will be getting.

When I watched the aerial video from the last page, I was briefly concerned that there was going to be a lack of foliage in VB due to the number of slides and buildings by/around the volcano. Seems like the back-end of the volcano where CB is (back of the park) is where you'll really be surrounded by it.

They just closed/opened early/late based on the weather for the day.

Ah, remember in the description of the Taniwha Tubes it said:
There’s a place in Universal’s Volcano Bay™ where the puka trees grow abnormally tall. Inspired by their twisting roots, the Waturi built four twisting water slides called the Taniwha Tubes. Riders can try all four twisting tracks, but beware—mischievous tiki statues spray jets of water when you least expect it.

Well, they appear to now be in place!

Look carefully at where the slide ends, before dropping you in the pool. (And oooh, I spot a rope bridge over the lazy river!!)

The same way Sapphire Falls was "finished" when it opened.

It's gonna be a fun and beautiful park once any glitches are ironed out.

The marketing on Universal's website literally says, "from the center of the raft"

I must admit, when I first read the descriptions I thought that spraying water from the center of the raft was misinformation and was referring to the yellow saucer slide with geysers in the concept art. However, now that all the slides are complete and I have reread the crazy slide names and descriptions I am starting to rethink some things. The description of a raft that sprays water is for Honu ika Moana.

Honu ika Moana™
Just like the ancient Waturi people who rode the ocean waves on friendly sea turtles and whales, guests can enjoy these two twisting, turning, multi-person slides. Honu sweeps up two massive walls, while ika Moana sprays water on riders from the center of the raft.

Based on this description I believe it is referring to the Blue and Dark Green raft slides by Cabana Bay, not the yellow and light green slides by I-4. The I-4 slides appear to be Maku Puihi Round Raft Rides.

Maku Puihi Round Raft Rides™
This six-person rafting adventure isn’t for the faint of heart. Choose one of two lava-tube paths or try them both. Maku slides through a deep volcanic gorge before spinning wildly around bowl-like formations. Then, test your bravery on Puihi, where you'll feel the stomach-flipping thrill of a zero-gravity hang time before splashing your way to safety at the bottom.

So the discussion on the missing geyser effect does not appear to be the same as water spraying from the center of the raft like many of us thought. I do hope the geyser effect is there, that looks way cool in the concept art. With all that said, I am not 'counting' on it but I would not be the least bit surprised if water will actually somehow spray from the center of the raft on the dark green slide Ika Moana. That effect would make what appears to be an average slide into something special.

We will find out soon enough!

Well here's another thing. The ride that will spray water from the center of the raft is the dark green slide. Next to the blue wave slide. On the opposite end of the park from where everyone is talking about. It's not the saucer slide!

The top of those large structures looks like they might have something placed on top ... possibly the top of a fake tree ... that would look nice ... maybe thats what they mean by the tall trees. Does anyone know if there will be mist anywhere in VB .... That would set the mood nicely

The one thing I have never been able to comprehend about projects such as VB and IOA is how far beyond satisfying UC pushes the addition of more eye/story candy. Just when I would step back and say, "done... this will be cool." , UC steps in and adds countless additional layers of more.

See, I'm on the opposite side. Those pics make me less worried. Three months is a lot of time.

I'm the same, said it a couple posts back, just compare the aerials each week and for the last 3-4 weeks the entire site has transformed, all main construction is nearly done, landscaping will be the easiest and fastest part of the project. Then again I work in design and witness the construction industry build at some incredible pace so that is probably why I really don't worry.

Honestly as I said above most of it left is landscaping, concrete paths take a couple days etc, the rest is moving earth and sand and planting plants. There are literally hundreds of people working on this site and if they are pushed for time they will simply bring in more contractors because MONEY. They won't schedule a big opening event this close to the date and all the media and press if they didn't think it would be finished, all that stuff will have been planned for months in advance. Most construction projects are always behind but most end up being finished on time for grand openings especially when there is a substantial amount of press and money involved for something so large.

I certainly does, one thing I'm happy to see is they have finally started to connect the lazy river :whoo:

Yep, they pass under the two story cabanas shown in the concept videos.

The kids area looks really nice but after watching all the ProSlide YouTube videos I'm slight disappointed there are no kiddie versions of their signatures like the mini-funnels.

Can't win them all ☺️

Ya- one of those kid tornado funnel would've been really neat. As it stands now though- they have 4 (3 enclosed 1 open) really good sized slides there- two are long for a kid area. Additionally- the long dual blue slide might be a mat racer- which would be awesome.

Im with you though. I think having a state of the art centerpiece kids area would really help with the direction/addition they are focusing on park-wide as of late.

It would be great to see a time lapse after VB has finished so we can see the flow of construction.

I think Volcano Bay has the best of everything for everyone. Family, thrill, and small ones all have multiple things to do. Plus, I do see people making a day out of this unlike other parks. With both quick service and table service, it'll do very well.

I do wonder how quick Universal will get back their money and be able to make profit.
