Just to bring it back to reality... While the park definitely feels void in several ways, I will say I don't see it hurting attendance.

This is the first true complex in Orlando that most annual pass holders can do the theme parks and water park in the same day by just using a locker (Aquatica/SeaWorld required getting in your car and driving to each gate, and Disney only afforded water park access to very upper echelon pass holders). And of course an on-site water park is a good value proposition for resort guests booking vacation packages with the hotels. In fact, I do wonder if Universal will have to revaluate pass holder access in the future.

As for the park itself, my two biggest complaints:
1- Monotonous theme. Everything is the same exact theme throughout.
2- Nothing is special. It doesn't offer a world class theme park escapism, it just feels like an extended resort with more slides.

Personally I think it looks wonderful. I'm genuinely quite shocked at the change of tone about this in the past couple of days.

Whilst there's a couple things I think to myself "I hope that changes" there's plenty that outweigh those for me, including the 200ft Volcano. Not to mention there are certainly worse things opening this year...

To me this looks like a real win for Universal and secures its spot as the best waterpark in Orlando quite firmly based on photos, although I'll give full judgement once I've actually been there for myself and experienced the park the way it was intended - and that isn't behind a computer screen!

It's a worthy extension to the before-mentioned point that is within the parameters of this discussion topic. If you want to make a thread with no criticism or comparison then go right ahead.

He's posting the exact same kind of posts over and over again. We encourage discussion but he's just beating the same points into submission without any sort of constructive narrative in addition.

Oh wow, I didn't even realize the wall theming difference until you looked at it in the comparison pictures.

I do disagree, the wave pool/ river walls are a valid and new discussion based on in park photos.

Which is sad that the standard of quality drops that much when you have really cool stuff like those frog lanterns going over the bridge. Some stuff is really thoughtful and special and other stuff just seems like they ran out of time and money.

The concept art does show a more "finished" lazy river product.

I believe that's the other lazy river, which we haven't seen in action yet.

It is odd isn't it. The whole front half of the park (more or less) is exactly what I expected. The tunnel and the entrance plaza are some of the most beautiful entrances to a water park anywhere. The big reveal of the volcano reminds me of those at DAK (Tree of Life), USF (all of Diagon), and MK/DL (the castles). All of which are the epitome of great creative design in theme parks.

Again: as everybody who's there keeps pointing out... they still haven't finished the park yet. There are still things left to be completed. It's more than likely your issues will be fixed.

Now if you want to express how they should've finished them before opening, that's totally appropriate. But more than likely what you see that you think looks unfinished... will be soon enough.

I don't think @Miketheboss is out of line with the above post. He should be allowed to post his opinion, just as people that enjoy mediocrity are allowed to post their's.

The wave pool pictures are especially interesting and it's a worthwhile post, as obvious by the fact it was posted 9-minutes ago and six people like it already.
