Lets face it, not many lands are concealed like this. Reminds me of The Safe House, a spy themed restsurant in Milwaukee.

And that's why it's the most immersive land that exists in any theme park. You don't really know it's there when you're outside. And once inside, you don't really realize (or at the very least, see) the rest of the Studio's theme park exists.

There's a great story of a Brazillian tour group who waited hours in line to enter and then proceeded to walk directly to Hogwarts Express.

When I worked Hogwarts Express I was astounded by the number of people who wondered where Diagon Alley was since they had been at the Studios all day and never found it.

In the era of GPS many people have forgotten how to use a map. Then there are those who never bothered to learn or just don't bother to use them at all. Sigh.:blank:

They forget how to read as well. Rather than having wizarding go like Pokemon (as some people are asking for) I think Jo would rather have them read a book. I agree with her curmudgeon that I am.

Since they quit teaching Geography, they can't find France, China or Japan on a world globe or map either.

Now where could they find a world globe at Universal? Hmm.

This is such a funny topic. Is there an attendant TM standing outside the hole in the wall?

Sometimes. I have seen them before pointing people at the hole telling them it's the entrance to Diagon Alley.

As someone said before, when it first opened back in 2014 there were attendants out there directing people to go in. On my last two trips, I don't recall any attendants being vocal outside the entrance. They may have been there but they were relatively quiet if they were.

Yes, usually in the morning but they're way less obvious, more like "good morning everyone head in right this way".

We used to joke about this happening with 'dumb tourist's' probably not bothering to go back there through the walls, until we actually witnessed it for real one time. We were sat on the benches at the London waterfront and a family walked past us saying 'oh look, it's the Harry Potter place'. The teenage daughter said to the parents 'what is here?' and the response was 'oh it's just that bus and some building's'. They looked at it for about 30 seconds and then walked off towards Springfield.

They're out there folks.

After seeing the fire breathing dragon in tv commercials I would be looking for a TM and asking "Where in F is the DRAGON???" I wouldn't just walk away...

If they don't find DA this trip then they have a reason to come back again. It is all a clever Universal plan.;)

Hello! I have been planning a trip to Universal Orlando and we might be going in about 3 weeks and my son has been excited about Diagon Alley and I want to buy him an interactive wand. So, few questions, is it worth the money? and is there a video or something to tell me where to find the "markers" to set off the spells? I want to not miss anything if you get what I mean  He also have been working on a mini project on Diagon since he is excited, on minecraft and he's doing a good job in getting most of the details from photos and videos. So that would be helpful haha.
Thanks!

I thought it was worth the money. When you buy it, a map comes with it, showing all the markers.

When you buy the interactive wand it comes in a nice antique looking cardboard box, and it has a antique looking map inside with all the locations, wand movements and incantations. The interactive areas, especially the ones in Diagon, are a blast & lot's of fun. My GF is an adult, I bought her one, and she runs around like a little kid with it, having tons of fun. So much fun. Don't miss it. (Also, the HP area on Universal's website used to have a list of the interactive areas, but I don't know if it's still on the site).....Welcome to the OU Forums.
