On another note, thought this post about Jon Landau's passing was interesting as it tagged him as a driving force behind both Pandora at Animal Kingdom and the experience slated for Disneyland. Obviously, that could simply indicate imagineering is porting the Animal Kingdom experience for California ... or, perhaps not.

I wonder if Disney will at least start construction on the avengers e ticket before working on the avatar land they mentioned we’d get at California adventure.

Probably. Avatar will more than likely involve expanding across the road into the Simba lot which requires Disneyland Forward and the infrastcure changes while with the Avengers E ticker they can start work on it right now if they wanted to. I also expect Hollywoodland to be addressed as well before they start Avatar. Might as well focus on what's in DCA before you expand out of park boundaries.

Whats Funny is I do wan Hollywood addressed but...if we lose that land for 2-3 years....it just cuts down on the park.

Like Monster Inc does get lines and so does the drawing studio so it would be nice if Avenger's could be open before they close monsters Inc and start the construction of Avatar land in area's outside the park or outside where Monsters so we don't lose attractions before gaining another

I don't think that's happening, unfortunately.

I went to DCA on Sunday

Racers only really got to 70 mins in the morning, which is not bad for that ride. Single rider looked like almost a walk on

GOTG has one elevator shaft down still so long lines for that even at rope drop

Toy Story is a walk on basically for the first 40 mins then quickly gets a line after that

Most of the flat rides are walk ons the first hour or two and I literally was on the Golden zephyr by my self with no other guests. Mermaid is a walk on until like noon (im happy LL has not affected this ride too much)

Monsters Inc really is one of the most popular ride in the park, just gets a line after the first hour and just keeps it up the rest of the day

Dr Strange is still meeting guests even if his show is over which is nice

Rode Spiderman and yeah, I see why I don't go on it much. Its not the worst but....really not a fan of this ride and evenLL takes 15 mins to get on no matter what because of how the line is set up....so yeah won't be going on it much

Yeah the campus is pretty bad, even as a marvel fan I was so disappointed by it. That’s why I’m dying for them to announce more about the avengers e ticket at this years d23. But they also have to at least start construction on it before the year is over. If it gets canceled again or if it turns out to be a garbage ride, the campus is doomed.

I wonder how good/bad the wakanda expansion of the campus will be

They could use the trick from Enchanted Tales with Belle for the Dr. Strange portal.

That would be awesome! Although I wonder what Disney will end up doing for the avengers e ticket entrance queue. Will they be using the sanctum like the rumors say or will they be going with something similar to the entrance for the original e ticket I wonder

yeah no offense to anyone who is a fan of that ride or the campus but that spider man ride is honestly pretty terrible. It’s just a cheap spider man re skin of midway mania. It’s super short, you can buy $30+ wrist attachments in order to get a better score, it’s screens only so no animatronics and barely any physical sets, and the actual game part of it is worse than Toy Story. You just flail your hands randomly and generic spider bots.

on average it seems like a fair amount of families and kids like it. But there’s also a fair amount that actually pointed out how bad the ride was too. I do not understand why Disney thought web slingers was an acceptable ride, let alone them making it the campus’ only new ride. Honestly it seems like Disney just did it cheap and lazy so they can drive marvel merchandise sales in the land (instead of actually focusing on providing quality rides/entertainment).

It’s a fun ride, I like going on it. The campus as an aesthetic exercise stinks, but the added food and beverage and meet and greets are legitimately pretty great.

I can agree the meet and greets are fun and think the food is also pretty good but for me the Spiderman ride just is really not that interesting

Like not even comparing it to the other spiderman ride, the Q for this is just so boring. Its just an old factory and only the lockers in the Q really have any personalty when waiting the rest is just pretty bare walls and the ride really to me just isn't that exciting. But more for you the others who like it, I just doubt I'll go on it much maybe I'll single rider it now and then but just have little interest in riding it every trip like say Racers, Monsters Inc and Mermaid

I agree with this part.

Outside of Fantasyland, I don't think there are any other places at Disneyland that have as many characters roaming around/doing things, and it's one of the best things about the land.

Yeah no offense to anyone who likes the ride but the spider man ride is just a cheap lazy re theme of midway mania. For web slingers they also managed to get rid of most of what made midway mania good. Honestly Disney should have either made a way better ride or they should have opened the e ticket with the campus. If the e ticket was already open i doubt people would be caring much about web slingers

It's just perplexing to me that the concept for Web Slingers was ever greenlit for a park that already had Midway Mania. You don't have to be an enthusiast to recognize that it's the same quasi-ride experience, i.e. being unceremoniously yanked from station to station like clothes on a dry cleaner rack to play the same simplistic arcade game in front of a handful of screens. If Disney wanted a cheap dark ride that reused an existing design, they should've at least gone with something more customizable like an omnimover. That said, I think a lot of this criticism is really the result of Avengers Campus not having a marquee E-ticket ride. It feels like Web Slingers and GotG are meant to be "supplementary" attractions to round out the land, and while I still don't like the Midway Mania ride system, it wouldn't seem like such a disappointment to me if it weren't the de facto anchor attraction.
