I also hope I get picked the first time, that would be magical, but, hey, that's what AP's are for!

Funny thing is even the magic of a AP & going a hundred times can't guarantee you that you will ever be picked. We just have to deal with it unless it's drastically changed in some way it's random & no matter how many time you show up you may never be picked. (sorry I've turned into the party pooper but let's face reality & if we have to be POed over it let's keep it inside & not let it ruin our day)

Haha, nothing except dying on FJ (that's NOT a possibility) will ruin my day at the WWoHP! But the keeper will pick the biggest fan, so I'll just look very excited and eager, which will come very naturally!

Like I said in my above post don't have a "plan" on how to act because it will kill your moral even more if you think you have something that will work & it doesn't. trust me if you go in there 20 times they will pick someone who is actng at least 10 different ways. So anything from bored to excited to sick will get picked that's what random is & how it will go down. sad but true

Well, like I said I'm just gonna act natural. I'm mostly looking forward to FJ though. Once the crowds die down in maybe November, I'm gonna see how many times I can ride in a day.

Imagine how happy all of those meal deal / refillable souvenir cup customers will be when they can't get standard things in this brand new land. It may very well be that you can't even refill your premium beverage cups at all here. I'm sure that will go over well with your average paying customer! The lines at the Fire Eaters Grill and The Watering Hole are going to be ridiculous now because of this new (hopefully short-lived) policy.

I purchased the meal deal with the free refil all day cup and we are ONLY going in order to be in the WWOHP for 3 of our 4 days. I have been told by Guest Services that neither the meal deal nor the free refill cup will be honored in the WWOHP. We either eat and drink in the WWOHP or leave when we are hungry or thirsty and hope to get back in that part of the park. Our on site hotel rooms are from June 17-June 20th. My opinion - I wish I had not purchased the meal deal or the free refil cups. Also, my children and I drink a LOT of WATER. The free refil cup does not cover water as you can get FREE water all day. $8.99 per person, per day to have something that will hold water. IF you are a big Soda drinker this may pay off. I am not against soda or my children having it either. Just on hot days it is better to wet your whistle with water than to fill up on soda. I have never seen these cups so I really hope they have a top and some sort of lanyard so I dont have to stowe it in my purse.

Regarding the Olivander's issue, we're forgetting that aside from FOTH and DC, Olivander's has been the only attraction/show/experience open during the previews. While I'm sure Olivander's will be a big draw, I'm thinking FJ will be a slightly higher people eater and should help equalize crowds. Perhaps demand in that situation will decrease to the point they can do groups of 10 or 15.

Also, from what I've been told about the FJ restraints, the biggest concern isn't chest circumference but torso length. You will not be seeing Dwight Howard riding this.

It's random dumb luck so don't let it ruin your day because when you go to buy your wand if you pick the one that matches your Birthday that is the one that would have "chose you" anyway in the shop.

How will you know which one it is though? I wonder if they'll have a display with the wands labeled with wood type, length and core. Preview people, have you seen such a thing? and do they offer a reference chart to let you know which one would have chosen you based on your characteristics?

I'm a bit weirded out by this. Those seats don't look very big, and though I know I could fit, I'm concerned about others. THey look like if you're only slighty overweight, you couldn't fit. So, i mean, did this guy just not ride it because he couldn't fit?

Now I'm getting concerned. I'm of the larger persuasion (46" waist, 285 lbs.) and now I don't know if I'm gonna be able to ride the one thing I've been wanting to get on more than any other at WWOHP. Is it possible that Universal will have "modified" seating like they do for some of the coasters? I also heard that the test seats may be getting calibrated so they might not be fully indicative of the size limits for the ride?

This whole wand thing is getting a little out of hand, you realize it's just some special effects and lights right? Once you've seen the wand selection a few times none of you will probably care
about it nearly as much as you think you will. I realize there are a lot diehard potter fans on this board, but I think the majority of people won't really care. To be honest this whole intimate experience is one that I see them completely dropping within a few years. Once the newness
wears off there may be even days
when only the store portion is acually open.

OKAY I'm glad people are finally talking about the FJ since we finally got t see footage of the vehicles and people continued to complain about the wand shop. only been waiting 3 years for this moment...for the ride:happy:

We've got a confirmed magic carpet load...but in my mind I assumed it was going from right to left but the vid sows it going left to right sooo, this turns my perception of the ride around but still is fine. And it looked like the arm was coming out of the wall, like they're hiding it by carefully maneuvering the arm in such a way that it fits in a small slit...master programming or am I seeing it wrong? (or both) .I'm basing this off of the youtube vid which shows the vehicles more clearly. LOOKS AWESOME

I see where you're going with your argument but I highly doubt they would get rid of the "experience". The whole basis for the park is that it is an immersive experience that is meant to bring you as close to living a day in the life of Harry Potter as possible. Imagine all of the children that will want to experience what their idol from the movies and books did when a wand chose him. I think this will make alot of children, and even some of the adults, very happy and give them a nice memory and give Universal another avenue for selling merchandise.

I doubt it. They'll always let anyone who wants to do it do it, and there will always be people who want to be fitted with a wand. This will only have a remote chance of happening in a few years time ONLY during the slow season.

I can't say for sure, but I do remember someone saying that they were working on larger seats for perhaps one of the ride vehicles. I don't know the credibility of the source, but it seems to make sense that they'd have a 3-seater with slightly larger seats for people who don't fit the regular size seats. This person, if I recall, did say that if they did implement something like this it wouldn't be until later in the year.

^ Agreed, it is getting out of hand so lets drop it shall we. Once the WWoHP opens we can create an "I DIDN'T GET PICKED AT OLLIVANDERS THREAD" and everyone can go there and complain about operations and how Universal is the devil and only spent 250+ million dollars to satisfy 1 out of every 25 guests.

And as far as giant4203 does anyone know his size I mean I wear an XL shirt and size 38 jeans and am starting to panic.

Hello everyone, I don't post that often but I love reading what everyone else thinks. As much as I love going to theme parks myself, I really enjoy seeing how others react to being in the parks. I attended the TM preview on thursday and I would like to give my comments and address some other concerns that have come up.

Firstly... as many have said already I must confirm that TWWHP is amazing. the level of detail is unlike anything any theme park, at least state side, has ever achieved. Hogwarts castle dwarfs cindy's shack down the street. while there will always be the magic of mainstreet with a castle at the end.. entering Hogsmead with the castle back there is unlike any feeling you will get at disney. I know many many pages ago we were all giggling at the people who said they could spend all day in just TWWHP, and while 9 am to 10 pm (or however long they will have to keep this place open) would be to long I can def see a minimum of 5 hours will be needed for the first time visitor, and those true fans will likley spend the majority of there day here. they have really created a place you want to sit down and just hang out in.

Butterbeer- amazing, had 2 glasses. I liked the frozen better. you will have to try both. I was expecting the frozen to be like an icee, but it is more like regular BB just... super cold with frozen bits and refreshing.

Shops- though they are, as others have reported, much smaller then the normal theme park shop, they are spectacular. the shops are attractions unto themselves. even the people I was with who were not HP fans or even knew the stores were from the books etc. were still enchanted and blown away. the shopkeepers are in full wizard robes and feel like hogsmead town folk. not once did I feel like I was in a souvenear shop or that an employee behind the counter was just a cashier.

Olivanders- not everyone will get picked, not everyone will want to. if you want to be picked and you are a teenager and above you may have to mature a bit and enjoy the show and go buy your wand of choice. it is a great show to see and you will not understand how not disappointed you will be until you see it. I understand I family with multiple children. I guess you will have to be the adult and prepare your children for what they will see rather then to be winy brats who think the universe is about them (sorry that was a rant)

The ONLY let down for me from the entire experience was DC. The Que started great the path is themed great, the first few rooms are awesome, then... miles of hallway with no themeing at all, new rock work over all of the bones from DD. as the que is so long and the cool stuff is at the beginning most people will be waiting in line among barren walls, this was confusing to me.

there really is so much to see and do I didn't get through everything in the 3 hours. HPTFJ que- stellar. FOTH- don't pass up at night, its the only way to see buckbeak and hagrids and it has amazing views of the castle (esp all lit up) the re themeing here as turned a kiddie coaster into a gentle ride for all hp fans!

there is so much more to say but I'll leave it there, let me know if you have any specific questions!
