I've been on plenty of B&Ms. Hulk does have a fairly strong rattle sometimes, but I find that the case on most B&Ms when you ride early in the day. As the day goes on, the ride warms up and things expand, eliminating the space that causes a rattle. This happened to me on Great Bear a few weeks ago. It makes a huge difference.

Hulk really doesn't stand out from other B&M's that were built in the early 90's. I know it was built in 98, but you have to consider it has a lot more hours on it being at a year round park.

Please don't take this the wrong way. But I can't help but wonder if it's the FL locals that think it's rough because they don't go all over the country and ride coasters to the extent that I do.

I've ridden multiple B&M's. All the B&M regular inverted seem to be more rough than the inverted suspended.

For me the problem is all in the head knocking in the restraints, thats my only complaint. Now I havent rode Hulk since 08 and it was a head knocker back then, on the back half of the ride.

I have felt it was getting more rough over the past year or so. I chalked it up to the fact that I turned 30 this year and inherently find more and more things to complain about.
But seriously, it does feel more rough in the past year IMO.

Rode Hulk yesterday and yeah it's getting rough. Coasters that are 10 years old in Florida weather tend to do that. New restraints aren't a solution. Heavily padded restraints not only look hideous but they don't really work as well as you'd think, either.

You must not have ridden a Gerstlauer Eurofighter. These over the shoulder restraints are padded, look good, and save your ears from getting smashed back in forth. Having ridden SAW at Thorpe Park. I -wish- Hulk had these. They're very comfortable.

I think a NEW type of restraint is the solution. Yes, Vekoma SLC new restraints look ridiculous, but everyone vouches that they make a huge difference.

Hulk is usually the coaster I can only ride once (twice if I had a good first ride) before my head hurts from being pin-balled in the restraints. Ironically, I can ride Rockit 5 times in a row and feel fine...

So, basically this thread is pointless. It is all a matter of opinion. Two opinions that the coaster is rough and rickety and two opinions that it is smooth as silk. No wonder that politicians act like politicians.

I avoid the "pin ball"ing by either pushing my head firmly back (hmmm where have I heard that before) or extending my head out past the restraint.

Just rode the Hulk for the first time in about 2 years and it was rougher than normal. Wasn't bad but you could def feel a vibration thru the floorboards that I have never felt before. I still love the ride though

Well the last time I rode Hulk was back at my last visit in 2007. And from what I can remember it is only the section after the corkscrew that is really rough. I rode it 12 times in a row, (because they was about 5 minute wait each time) from the front row ending up at the back, and from what I remember I still banged my head every time after the corkscrew.

i went on the hulk three times today and i have to admit it is pretty rough but it doesnt really bother me except it make me nervous just like rip rockit does because of the sound. Other than that The Hulk is still my favorite coaster in florida for sure.

I would consider Hulk rougher than my normal B&Ms (Nemesis, Oblivion and Air) - but it's had a lot more hours/milage as Alton Towers is closed for 5 months of the year!

It's not as brain shaking as Gwazi at Busch though!

Don't find it rough at all as long as you keep your head back the whole time.

It's in the back rows that you really start to notice it. Especially during the second half of the ride with the loop around the brakes and the final corkscrew

Saying that Ajstriker, I should find it ok then since I only ride the front row's.

Would love to know what cause to the roughness though.
