The problem would be fitting it in somewhere. The only spot would be on the side of Simpsons if they used coke area and where the basketballs are.

They could probably have some fun with the theming like they do with K&K, too. How hard would it be to retheme/move something like Woody Woodpecker, would it be worth it?

It can't be hard at all. Orlando's coasters don't see a lot of movement but other parks stateside actually do move way bigger coasters to other parks every so often.

But getting movie rights wouldn't necessarily mean park rights. I feel like that would still be up to The Pokemon Company if they want that part of the deal. I could be wrong though.

If that's true, it would be a no brainer for the Pokemon Company. Nintendo has a large stake in them (Universal contract), Legendary would be doing the movie (Universal contract), and WB may have some say and they have a great Universal relationship with HP (WB did the movies, TV + the like in the Pokemon heyday)

Well, I'm throwing this back on the table... Nintendo said today that the NX would not be revealed during E3 this year. As many of us believed an NX annoucement would be priority over any Park annoucement, could we now see something Nintendo Land announced at E3 this year? I think it could be a good possibility now.

No. I think it just speaks to the dwindling importance of E3 more than anything. I doubt you hear anything about Nintendo before 2017

Can't agree on E3's importance dwindling. Just look at the number of surprise AAA games announced last year. Movie theaters have begun to live steam the presentations, as have some television networks. It's a massive event for the industry, and that won't change anytime soon.

Yea, I disagree. E3 has become less and less important the last few years. Most prominent games media has been talking about it for a while.

Either way, you're not gonna get a park announcement there.

I'd have to agree. I remember there being several years where the event dwindled almost to irrelevance, but it's come back pretty strong. Nintendo specifically has backed away from the event lately, as they seem to prefer TGS or just doing their own stuff.

We hear that doom and gloom almost every year. We heard it when Nintendo announced it was ending E3 conferences in favor ND. But then the event happens and it is big and dominates gaming news. Does it have its problems? Yes. I think we are on the way to seeing E3 open up beyond just media guests. But the reports of its emminate demise are premature and embellished.

To a degree, perhaps. I think the event's prominence is also directly related to the cycle of new consoles. When Xbox One and PS4 were close to release, I remember it being pretty big. Granted, I wouldn't want my event's popularity tied to something that happens every 6-8 years, but it seems to be doing fine nonetheless.

I'm not counting on it by any means... But Nintendo did sort of force Universal into making the original announcement as early as they did, so its not out of the realm of possibility for them to do the same thing again.

If they are going to announce anything park related, it will be Zelda related as thats the focus of the E3 based on the press release that came out today. Thats also the only game they are demoing at E3 as well. So....

Earnings report was over. Nintendo didn't have a hot quarter. I never realized that Sony sold 3x as many PS4s as Nintendo has sold Wii Us.

Only one mention of theme parks at all. "We are planning to offer new attractions at theme parks featuring Nintendo characters," which was buried inside a section on medium/long-term plans. No news (which was obvious). But, also, the single sentence shows me that Nintendo isn't planning to make a ton of money on this. While they might be wrong (look how much Disney makes on merch + WB on Potter), it tells me that they won't be rushing to give this a ton of press. I'd expect Universal to be doing the heavy-lifting on news, which means no E3 announcement.

I think it's more likely that it's not being given a focus because it's still 3.5-4 years away, and isn't a core business.

I would have thought it was obvious by now.

It's literally the most ideal audience for an announcement though.

I dunno. It might be. But the E3 crowd doesn't generally strike me as the ones that would be bringing their families to a park. It wouldn't be a BAD idea to show some stuff at E3, but it also could get drowned out due to the amount of news that comes out of the event.

If I was Uni and Nintendo, when I was ready for the reveal, I'd set up an announcement, fly the big games media personalities to it along with the theme park media (and media media), and show it off at UOR or USJ or whatever. That way you have the focus, can show off the existing product, and really make sure the games media is ONLY writing about your big new land.
