I dunno. It might be. But the E3 crowd doesn't generally strike me as the ones that would be bringing their families to a park. It wouldn't be a BAD idea to show some stuff at E3, but it also could get drowned out due to the amount of news that comes out of the event.

If I was Uni and Nintendo, when I was ready for the reveal, I'd set up an announcement, fly the big games media personalities to it along with the theme park media (and media media), and show it off at UOR or USJ or whatever. That way you have the focus, can show off the existing product, and really make sure the games media is ONLY writing about your big new land.

The way I see it is you are getting a room full of people who may not otherwise visit a theme park, never mind Universal. Forget about it getting drowned out as that wouldn't matter. It would hit the internet immediately anyway.

But in a room of thousands of die-hard Nintendo fans, I have a hard time believing hearing that you can actually WALK THROUGH and LIVE the worlds would get drowned out.

I still am in the minority that believes Nintendo is a nostalgia/older crowd move w kid benefits rather than vice versa.

There are bigger games for the younger set (Minecraft, specifically), but Nintendo is right below that.

Not disagreeing with you. Just thinking about who and what kinda folks can afford vacations now.

Harry Potter + Nintendo is a 1,2 punch for MANY A millennial who LOVE to travel, drink and have money to burnnnnnnnnnnn.

So many folks I know (in my office especially) who have zero interest in theme parks - this turns the tide for them. Especially when I tell them they can drink to their hearts content.

These parks are only gonna become more and more and more expensive. And 1/3 of visitors are already sans children. This number cam and will grow and I look forward to Universal seizing / embracing this.

Oh, I do not disagree at all that it's a nostalgia addition as much as a family one.

But these parks are always going to be driven primarily by people with kids, whether those kids be the under 10 set or tweens.

Yep, Universal is capitalizing on all of the geekiest IPs. And the money will rain down because of it.

I don't think that E3 is a bad place to make an announcement per se. I just think like @JungleSkip said, it's just too early. Let's do some demo, break ground and move some dirt around first.

I don't really consider tweens to be kids (which, as I've said before, Universal's focus was always on families with older children which I don't mind at all.)

The IP's listed just veer on the very young side to me.

Unless something drastic happens in our economy / middle class the parks will be geared towards families / folks with $$$$$$$$$$ that's for sure.

I think we're mixing two different threads here (Nintendo and 3rd park talk) . Don't disagree that Uni's aim is generally the kids older than 8-10, but I think some of the DW stuff can appeal to everyone.

Personally curious, what is the building related for that is next to ET and next to Horror Make-up?

upload_2016-4-30_14-18-29.png

The reason why i'm asking is that with some more analyzing, if you include that building next to ET/HMS/T2, it could give Nintendo an extra acre; making it 11 acres. Although, i'm not sure if they would want to do that, its just an idea that I'm thinking of that they could maximize the amount of space for Nintendo as much as possible (Even if the ET building gives them possibly over ten).

That's EPC - the Entertianment Production Center.

Otherwise known as the entertainment costuming location for the Studios side. The smaller IOA partner site is between Toon/Marvel.

And to clarify, since sometimes even within the companies people confuse the two... Yes, main Wardrobe for for Universal is over behind Diagon still. At Universal "Wardrobe" and "Costuming" are two completely separate units. Whereas at Disney "Costuming" covers both those areas and as a single operational unit shares buildings and such.

Those buildings are Entertainment related. Break rooms, locker rooms, costuming, make-up, etc, etc. It should be noted that all of those are trailers that you may see used at an overcrowded school, so it is by no means permanent/can be moved.

Its highly likely that the first addition for Nintendo at UO would replace possibly; the entirety of Kidzone, including the possible following.

~Animal Actors
~Barney
~Curious George
~Fivals
~Woody Woodpecker Nuthouse
~ET
~Kidzone Pizzeria

And in turn, Nintendo would be a possibly 10 acre plot. And its also rumored of this first phase regarding would center on Mario's universe and DK's.

Interesting. Then if they can move it; that would add an extra acre to the mix..

I'm wondering if the rumored delays and the shifting on this project are so they can move more to the 3rd park. The castle would make a good focal point for a 3rd gate, but if they already built one in Kidzone, it would be redundant. Of course, that does bring up the question of whether it would be too Disney to have a princess castle at the center of the park?

Wasn't it that @testtrack321 saying that they wanted it to be a 2020 date? I can be wrong; but it may not be as much of a delay, per-say.
