As I've said on magic if they announced that B&tB ride for France I'd just grin and bear it at this point. There's really no way we'll win here anymore.

I'd love to see this instead.

There's an empty expansion pad next to France and I don't see any countries being added for the foreseeable future.

I really have no feelings for the nostalgic Epcot as many of you do. I think it's original set up, most especially Future World, has outlived it's time. Bring in some good new attractions. Put some of them in the front of the park and a few in World Showcase. Rename the front of the park with a more representative & doable theme (Future World & Tomorrowland themes just aren't workable in today's fast tech society), and the park will be fine. It has a lot of strengths. It just needs some investment (more attractions) and a little fine tuning. The Festivals work well. Continue centering the parks around those instead of trying to beat the dead horses of education & the future. Those horses are losers for entertainment.

To me that ride looks like Spider-Man/Transformers but minus the motion base that makes them as convincing as they are. This looks better.

This actually raises an interesting point. If that ride went into Universal, I'd call it overkill with that ride type but not if it went into Disney. I'm sure a motion bases could be added.

My concern with Beauty and the Beast at WDW is that I think it's a bit much. You have the show at DHS and Be Our Guest. I do like the look of the concept but I've never seen the movie and I loved Ratatouille.

Let's just cut to the chase and add Tron. I think it's what we all want, the development costs are done and the theme would blend in well with TT. Retheme the whole area to that and it will be the best night time park in the area.

Forgetting Toy Story and Finding Nemo spread over two parks already? ;)

Also I think from all I've read about the DHS redo it seems like B&tB and LM won't still be there when all is said and done.

Two parks, not three.

I can see the Beauty and the Beast show not having long left though. Ratatouille could be just at home in DHS.

I'd be fine with Ratatouille going to the France Pavillion. Honestly, a Disney-fied World Showcase isn't a terrible idea.

The only Marvel thing that I would like to see anywhere at WDW would be Future World becoming Stark Expo, but it can't happen. Instead of half-assing a GotG ride in a space with an existing attraction, just close off one end of Future World, completely revamp it and then switch to the other side and do the same. It would be neat to do a Jules Verne themed Tomorrowland like they have in Paris, but Magic Kingdom has it.

Ultimately, anything they do with Future World is going to cannibalize something else at WDW.

I can't agree more, I think we'll look back at HP and see it being the beginning of a new golden era in Orlando.

From a purely creative point, I think using an IP is a much easier way to make a ride. Instead of having to create a story and characters, they're just continuing an already developed story and one they know is a success. The risk with creating something completely original is that it's time consuming and has a higher risk of being a failure. Looking at ROL, I can see Disney's confidence being slightly shattered.

I think expedition everest is what killed them ever using non-IP for a ride. My understanding is they did not get the attendance bump they were expecting. It is also why they stopped building as much and thought it was a mature market. Or at least that is what I have heard.

HP showed Disney that it is not a mature market, but more that a good IP is needed to get the return on inventment. But even Universal didn't predict what would happen. I heard there was 5 years to pay the land back and well they did it in under 2 years. So I think all of Orlando was a little shocked with what happened.

I.P.cot will be renamed to "Disney's Discovery Kingdom".

Future World becomes "Science!"

World Showcase becomes "Exploration!"

"And you get an IP, and you get an IP, and you get an IP...." Oprah style.

I know this is a joke, but I could never see them renaming Epcot. The name is too iconic.

Well, throw one step for us hearing something about GotG happening.

Still don't think so, but figured I'd share that bit. @hatetofly will probably expound on it some more.

I'm not ready to commit to this 100% either way yet myself but for the sake of RUMOR talk I'll throw this out there.

What if Disney and Universal actually did have a meeting and came to an agreement...

And within that agreement Disney is allowed full access to GoTG. Disney can then put Marvel in its East Coast Resort and a much needed IP into Epcot that upper management desperately wants.

Universal is then granted full access to the MCU characters of Marvel and has exclusive rights to MCU Avengers main characters in Florida. Disney also picks up the check for the actors to appear in a Universal Avengers ride as a part of the complete rebuild of Marvel Superhero Island. Finally Universal also has the ability to acquire rights to utilize DC Comic Characters for a third gate if they so choose. (PS Don't get lost on the DC Comics remark, remember were talking rumor agreements and what would benefit each other) Its all just RUMOR talk and nothing more.

Warner Brothers has leased the DC rights to Six Flags everywhere in the US except for the Las Vegas area, but it's not the same kind of deal that Universal has with Marvel which means that Warner Brothers can force Six Flags to renegotiate if Warner Brothers wants to give access to Universal. I think any deal would be Orlando only because it would put Six Flags Magic Mountain in conflict with Universal Studios Hollywood.

Yes and no.
From the deal....

"We have the exclusive right on a long-term basis to theme park usage of the Warner Bros. and DC Comics animated characters throughout the United States (except for the Las Vegas metropolitan area), Canada, Mexico and certain other countries. In particular, our license agreements entitle us to use, subject to customary approval rights of Warner Bros. and, in limited circumstances, approval rights of certain third parties, all animated, cartoon and comic book characters that Warner Bros. and DC Comics have the right to license, including Batman, Superman, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety Bird and Yosemite Sam, and include the right to sell merchandise using the characters. In addition, certain Hanna-Barbera characters including Yogi Bear, Scooby-Doo and The Flintstones are available for our use at certain of our theme parks. In addition to annual license fees, we are required to pay a royalty fee on merchandise manufactured by or for us and sold that uses the licensed characters. Warner Bros. and Hanna-Barbera have the right to terminate their license agreements under certain circumstances, including if any persons involved in the movie or television industries obtain control of us or, in the case of Warner Bros., upon a default under the Subordinated Indemnity Agreement."

Two ways WB gets rights back is if six flags defaults on payments at their parks/or if they get bought out (currently valued at 3.8 billion).
