Has anyone tried walking over from Cabana Bay to Sapphire Falls? Is it worth it to try and ride the boat?

There is no boat from Cabana only busses...if I'm understanding your question that is.... The walk from the parks to Cabana is not bad at all...After a day at the parks it is a different story though..

What I would love would be a boat service that goes to all the hotels. I wanted to plan a meal at Sapphire, but staying at Hard Rock. So, I walk to City Walk, get on the boat for Sapphire? It would be so nice to have a boat that makes stops at hotels ONLY. Would make pool hopping and restaurant hopping so much easier. With easy transport I would be spending more time resort hopping, AND spending money at the other resorts.

Cabana Bay is literally across the street from Sapphire Falls. It wouldn't take more than a few minutes to get from one to the other from the front lobby of both. I was thinking of heading over to CBBR for their breakfast. I really like Cabana's food court.

It's faster to just take the bus from CB than to walk over and take the boat from SF, so there's no time savings. Yes, it's nicer taking the boat than the bus but the bus is faster overall.

Yep, I was just thinking it would be more relaxing and fun to take the Sapphire boat instead of ride the bus. Just not a big fan of buses. Not worried about time saving either. I just didn't know if the walking path from Cabana met up with Sapphire and if it was really out of my way to try and walk it to the Sapphire boats. My kids are really wanting to ride the boats, but we can't afford the hotels that offer it, other than Sapphire. But the room size at Cabana Bay (family of 5) is much bigger than Sapphire, so that's why we picked Cabana Bay. Its my first time ever staying onsite. I'm so excited. Maybe its just me, but when you have to ride a bus to the parks it doesn't seem like you are really staying "onsite." :)

I'm right there with you. I'd always rather take a boat than a bus, but I have to say the CB busses run every few minutes and aren't usually crowded. The boats on the other hand seem to take forever but offer a much "nicer" experience overall.

An idea. Actually the walk from CBBR isn't bad(15 to 20 minutes. kind of like walking from IOA entrance to Hogsmeade) (it's also the same length as the Portofino walk), and you don't have to stand in the long parking garage security check line. But, after time in the park heat, the walk back is tough. Try doing a walk to the parks in the morning and then take the boat back to Sapphire on your way back to the hotel when you return to CBBR. That will give you an idea of the time it takes, ease of walk etc....I'm not sure yet how easy or quick it is to take the CBBR walkway to the Sapphire Bay boat dock.........There's just about always a CBBR bus waiting as GA Coaster says. It's not like Disney with the long waits.

I've done the walk to Cabana Bay a couple of times. It really is a beautiful scenic walk. If you haven't done it you really should.

Probably worth it to take the bus or just walk it out. You have to double back a little to the boat dock. It might be easier to take the RPR boat instead.

RPR boat a lot of doubling back also. I looked at that when I was there in May, and I could have almost been to CitiWalk by the time I walked over to the RP boat dock from where the CBBR path meets the RP path about a 100 yards from the pool.

I had a friend meet us at Sapphire Falls Friday night an he confused CBBR and Sapphire Falls and ended up at CBBR. He walked over from CBBR Valet to Sapphire Falls lobby and it took 3 minutes. If you want to get to the SF boat ramp, you should go through the lobby, down the circular stairs and out to the ramp. Do NOT go via the Garden Walk route because it's very round about and you have to double back to the boat ramp.

Exactly, took my friend 3 minutes to cross the street. Also, you should try the Amatista Cookhouse buffet breakfast, it's AMAZING (I'll post pics later from this weekend).

Yes, it is much faster to take the bus to the garages, however I dislike having to go through there because it makes me feel like I'm not staying on-site. HOWEVER, the boats from SF do take FOREVER now because the waterway between Volleyball Bay (where the Royal Pacific plane is in the water... I learned that from the captain's radio updates) to the last bridge before Citywalk is one-way traffic only, we often had to wait 5 minutes on one side before being able to go through.

If you go from CBBR lobby to SF lobby and down the circular stairs to the boat ramp there's no doubling back. But if you've walked to RPR from CBBR, its worth it to just walk the rest because of how long the boats wait now to go through the one-way waterway section.

Funny how things work..

Universal is way more strict with ride safety, yet they take other things a little lax (yes I know why it's much less likely for gators to be in Universal's canals):

Food update from Strong Water Tavern at Sapphire Falls.

First, let me say that me and my girlfriend absolutely loved this place. It's a very casual, hipster (but not actual hipster, I guess more hip than hipster) rum bar with EXCELLENT tapas. My girlfriend is a big instagram foodie and gave this place two-thumbs up.

Menus are nicely designed to the theme:
IMG_4318.jpg

Cuban Mojito Ceviche (spicy!) (Sea Bass, Garlic, Red Onion, Tomato, Jalapeno, Mint, Chives, Strong Water White Rum, Lime Juice, and Plantain Chips):
IMG_4326.jpg

Pork Arepa (Onion, Garlic, Cumin, Achiote, Avocado and Salas Rosada):
IMG_4327.jpg

Sweet Plantain and Beef Hash (Spiced Shredded Beef, Onions, Peppers, Sunny Side Up Egg)
IMG_4329.jpg

Roasted Pork (Pork, Garlic, Onions, Peppers, Adobo, Yucca Escabeche):
IMG_4330.jpg

IMG_4333.jpg

Drinks are all excellent and they use an abundance of fresh ingredients!
IMG_4339.jpg

and one more just to burn everyone's eyes out with my upper thighs :peace:
Cuban something drink that I had 4 of by the pool :D

Rain came Saturday afternoon around 5:30 PM, luckily we were already inside. Pool did open again once the lightning cleared and stayed open until well after dark.

I know someone who was made to delete a video he took from a pedicab approaching security Saturday. Was given the choice to delete or have phone confiscated. First I had heard of it and I understand the point but......
