I think the biggest issue I see for many people not paying full attention will be that there will be THREE resorts or parks with "Bay" in the title.

Also, I wonder how Loews feels about having their name removed from the signs...

With fill rates like this I think they can live with it.

Compare this to WDW. I just looked up availability for a party of two for a two night stay this Saturday/Sunday nights. Every hotel was available.

I don't think they've squeezed them but they've changed the font. Which is even worse.

If anybody is interested the old sign is Futura and the new one is Interstate.

Sorry, typography nerd here, chiming in. The old one isn't Futura. Futura has sharp pointed terminals on N's, W's etc. :)

Is that even really a fair comparison? Disney has a whole lot more hotels then Universal.

Hotels occupancy rates have always been a point of pride and profit at WDW, so from that POV it's a fair comparison. The bigger fact for me is that this is the height of summer and not one hotel at WDW is full. Universal keeps adding rooms and keeps filling them up.

Just like Disney with three places with "Springs" in the name.

I don't want to sidetrack this thread on something so minor, so I apologize, but no -- that font in your post is absolutely not Futura Medium. :)

I mean.. you gotta pretty much just go left for all 3 of them. So might as well just dub them The Bays and point them in that direction.

This hotel looks like it's not that great according to trip advisor and reviews on Twitter.

Trip Advisor has it at 3.5 out of 60 reviews. That's average.

Also the prices for room ON-SITE are comparable to many off-site hotels and include the perks of being on site. Just the convenience of the boat transportation makes stating there well worth it.

While it's probably not *great*, trip advisor isn't a good way to judge. Most people only review things when they either had a sub-par/bad experience or a GREAT experience.

Yeah, I've been looking now. Out of 8 1*'s, 2 were upset that there was no express. Others had legitimate gripes, but seems they just went with the "All or Nothing" rating.

Saw something like "Well it's brand-new so I understand there are kinks, restaurant was OK, pool was nice, look is modern, BUT HOTEL IS NOT DONE! 1 STAR!"

Yes, it's a bit of exaggeration, but overall point remains.

Also saw another review, who said they are normally Disney people, give Universal shot and booked SF; admit "Hey, it's brand-new and has kinks" but completely write off whole Resort due to stay.

This is why I take all online reviews with a huge grain of salt. When looking at car rental reviews in Orlando. I don't think a single place is above 2.5/5.

People are more inclined to complain than give a compliment.
