I wouldn't put much credibility into it. Martin on WDWM hadn't heard this as of 1 week after the "Carousel of Progress" twitter account's source heard it. Confusing, I know.

Essentially, this has been disputed by an actual insider.

I'm thinking it's the same deal Disney told CMs at DCA, that the ToT rumors could be false/don't believe everything you hear/not true, aka lying.

I wish Disney would take some time and come up with a real plan for updating Epcot.

I really think IPs and Epcot can co-exist...it's just being intentional with implementation...Frozen is an example of shoe-horning

It's a loose rumor at the moment, but rumors of a ride in the France pavilion have surfaced again. @Marni1971 is saying that there are more than one proposal for the pavilion, one of them being the DLP Ratatouille LPS ride. It's possible one of the other proposals is the TDS Beauty and the Beast LPS ride.

Either way, it's sounding like they are seriously considering actually expanding World Showcase with rides. Martin confirmed that this would be an expansion of the France pavilion, so it would be on the giant plot of land between Morocco/France in all likelihood.

Yeah, i'll believe it when it happens, but I do think that the situation they put themselves in with Frozen means there's a need to relieve that ride of the stress it's under because of lack of capacity.

I would say it's a matter of quality capacity. Impressions of France has plenty of capacity but the only way I would do that again is if it was raining hard and I needed a nap.

Well that's what I mean. WS has plenty of capacity with shows and the like, but there's very little in the way of ride capacity, which is what is needed if Frozen is ever going to see an ease away from 2.5 hour waits like I often see.

Yeah also adding capacity in another area isn't going to make Frozen less popular. Although anyone who would think that it was a good idea to put Frozen in a low capacity WS attraction would probably think a new attraction in France would fix it.

At least the state of Epcot security is good. A man from Louisiana was arrested for trying to bring a gun into the park.

Deputy: Louisiana man arrested after attempting to bring gun into Epcot - Orlando Sentinel

For everyone they catch there's at least five more that randomly were not selected. I would say this only shows that the state of Epcot security isn't good.

I'd say out of all Disney Parks i've been to around the world, Epcot's easily has the strictest security at the front gate. Since the security uptick, the front gate is now SWARMING with security (cops/police dogs too) everywhere you look before entering the park. The actually bag check is very thorough at Epcot compared even to any other US Disney Park. Also, it's interesting to note that Epcot is the only WDW park you HAVE to go through a metal detector at if you skip bag check.

I'm not sure if it's because of World Showcase being a giant bar that the park has stepped it up so much or what it is, but it's incredibly noticeable. The front gate area of Epcot is also set up much better for a high security check, so maybe that's why.

Would be cool to see World Showcase get an expansion, especially since the right side is fairly barren in terms of attractions.

Also, since the UK wasn't ruled out as a proposed area of expansion (Japan and Canada were), I'm inclined to think there might be a Mary Poppins proposal of some sort - especially with the sequel slated for 2018.

France (Ratatouille clone, Impressions de France update)
United Kingdom (stage show, Mary Poppins - first-of-its-kind 'carousel' dark ride)

If only Future World weren't in such bad shape  but two 2,000-2,500/hr dark rides in WS would definitely help Frozen Ever After (and also Soarin'/Test Track, to a lesser extent).

WS is honestly the least of the parks problems, it's held up incredibly well comparative to Future World. However, WS does need some love every once in awhile too.

I actually think they could have gone in the other direction with WS and remove attractions. They could split it off and make it, coupled with the resort area like a second DTD. With Frozen now I would say this isn't a possibility anymore.

I'm not sure if you're trolling or what, but we all know if Disney actually went ahead and removed EVERY ATTRACTION they operate in World Showcase (There's actually a lot, they just aren't rides) Disney would be ostracized for doing so.

Disney does a lot of wrong, but what you are suggesting is simply idiocy.

Yeah I'm not suggesting that, but just pointing out that WS is more of a shopping and dining destination than a theme park destination. I would be willing to bet if it weren't for a handful of attraction they would have cut WS off of the park a long time ago. Other than the American Adventure nothing in WS would be a big loss.

Yes, but Future World and World Showcase feed off of each other to the benefit of both. Most people (with the exception of locals) come for Future World and the rides there, but stay for the atmosphere, experience, likely a Dinner and then Illuminations out in World Showcase.

The relationship between FW and WS is probably one of, if not the best, examples of symbiosis within a theme park.
