Geezus, did they hire El Greco to do the concepts for them? That is horrid stuff.

looking at that concept art without knowing what it is, I would have never guessed it was for Avatar. I would have thought it was something headed for Busch.

Yeah, that concept art makes it look really cheap & chintzy. It has a Dino Land (AK) look and values. Hopefully, it's just a bad representation of a billion dollar gig. That initial artwork sure won't drive attendance.

Those new pieces of concept art aren't great, but I have every reason to expect that Pandora will be a world class theme park land (as it should be, given what Disney's spent on it). I'm looking forward to hearing some more details tomorrow.

That's the crazy thing. Even if they dedicated only .01% to the concept art budget they would have had $100,000 to produce something amazing.

I was thinking the same thing. The art looks very BGT generic.

To echo what's been said, I'm not a fan of the concept art. To be honest it doesn't really say "Avatar", I could show this to multiple people and they wouldn't know what this belongs to. An' when you're riding on a particular IP like this, that's a problem.

Agreed, chintzy does come to mind especially when you look at this picture...

...and notice they have a mech wearing a grass skirt and holding a sign that says "Tiki Bar". (This is probably the cantina they announced, but still...definite Chester & Hester vibe for a billion dollar land.)

Rockwork is expensive y'all. I'm sure the land will look great once we're in it.

I'd say incoming people being hyped...but only due to Rohde being a good hypeman as usual.

I'm not expecting much, mostly because I know Disney well enough not to get hopes up for any announcements, period.

This is the same company that held a press conference for benches at Fantasmic. BENCHES.

To be fair, they were really nice benches ;)

With all of universals recent announcements You'd think Disney would be chomping at the bit to get some of their own news out there.

That presentation was a wet fart. They released more info yesterday with the concept art than today. Wow.

Yeah, from what I can gather there's a lot of fluff goin' on. While people are admitting what they're seeing looks nice, it feels like this is not a easy sell.
