No, but it's a logical assumption based on how far ahead they are out there compared to in Florida. "Insiders" have consistently said to expect quite staggered openings.

All the company has said officially is that both are coming in 2019.

No, it has not.

I will say this, it is misleading considering the amount of work being done to Disneyland right now pales to WDW's (but perhaps that may change with Universal-speed cola).

I have to believe, that at the very least; Disneyland will open theirs first for a mid-2019 (Late-May/July) debut while DHS has a late-2019 (November). It's a guess, but it could make sense.

Yep. I've said it before, but I can't wait to compare the grand opening ceremonies for each resort's land. One I'm expecting to be one of the most lavish displays of pageantry Disney's put together in this century; the other I'm expecting to be akin to your basic Star Wars Weekends shindig.

I hope I'm wrong, but I can't shake the feeling that Star Wars Land is going to be old news before ours is even open.

You'd think management would want WDW's version open for summer 2019, but I'd bet all the money in my pocket that we're looking at this, best-case:

Disneyland - March/April, 2019
Hollywood Studios - November/December, 2019

This actually makes sense as they could have a movie premier for both rides.

You can't get much more publicity than that and throw an ad with the trailers before the films.

If they hold the world premiere of EPISODE IX at Hollywood Studios as part of the grand opening of the land, I will certainly change my tune!

The dates match up for Episode IX for WDW and the Han Solo film or whatever other story they're doing for Disneyland.

If they do it, it would be quite the spectacle.

If they can get the construction schedules within 2-3 months of each other, I could see extended softs at DL and them doing the Grand openings at the same time.

Assuming that DL does open first, it will be a nightmare at WDW until theirs opens. A lot of people will come assuming that they both are open once they see the hype of opening DL's. Just like people are already showing up at DAK now because they started promoting Avatar all day on ABC last week.

That's a great point. Half the people in the UK talking about Disneyland actually mean Disney World.

No problem. They'll just go over to MK to see Harry Potter land.

You can't expect tourists to be the most up-to-date on things. I was in line for Haunted Mansion (in CA) and the people in front of me were bummed they couldn't find T2:3D in Disneyland (2 years after it had closed in Hollywood).

No chance the heads move based of further developed pictures that have been released..

Reference post #1230, seems like the front ATAT has a head welded in place.

Yea, that confused the hell out of me. Not really sure why they'd show the head moving when it's pretty clear from the construction that's not possible.

Nice marketing troll...?

I have to say I've been reading about the 'Stormtrooper battle escape' ride and i think its going to be big! Sounds like Disney's next attempt to truely reestablish the E-ticket standard (personally i don't see Avatar attacking that).

But what I find funny is how they push the tagline in the reports that this attraction will hold over 150 AA storm troopers.

That's really answering the guest complaint of lack of AAs in all theme parts lately. "They keep complaining about not enough AAs. SCREW IT! Let's thrown hundreds at them!"

I think they're stretching the term AA a bit...I'm expecting It's A Small World type movements from most of them

People forget about all the great AA's in the Gringott's queue. Universal has been putting some solid AA's in. But they choose to put them in the queue rather that the ride.

Oh I agree on all fronts. I'm sure 80% of the AAs will really just be stationary with laser effects or something similar...

Yes, it is smarter from a cost benefit analysis perspective...People get to stare at them and enjoy them longer...I'm glad Universal is getting comfortable with AAs again

People also forget about the talking one inside of one of the DA stores, I forget which one...He will actually answer your questions
