The rides seemed about the same to me except I like the Forbidden Journey more and have no desire to do Gringotts again. You do agree that Spider Man - Transformers and Kong - Fast are basically the same though right?

In would encourage you to cancel the annual pass. Universal is not ever going to be coaster heavy, things are going to get more and more technologically advanced as the years come, and that can't happen with outdoor coasters. So basically if u don't do dark rides, don't do universal. Maybe another coaster with some kind of crazy element down the road, but i don't see another like the ones now.

This is not at you and I get the comparisons of the two rides (and really, from everything I read around here at the time is that Transformers was never meant for Orlando, we just got lucky when Comcast realized they could save $$ by decreasing their tax bill by building something real fast...so Transformers was the best clone they could do).

Anyway, I find the cars so different. I am sorry, but the Transformers ride vehicle are the 2.0 of the Spidey vehicles and technology improved 10 fold in the time between vehicle designs (when talking about the brains and the control of movement between the two vehicles.).

I for one am glad we have Transformers in FL....the fast and slow motion scenes alone make it stand out...plus being taken upstairs elevator style and not even feeling it...great stuff in the warehouse there!!

I am not complaining about Transformers I like it way more than Spider Man but if you think about it and remember the rides the scene with water is about the same time as Spider Man and the part with the fire is at about the same time as well. To me it seemed like the track layout and when some things were happening was too similar except just when I thought it would end was happy it kept going

I know what you are saying is true even though I don't wanna hear but its just sad because I live in Orlando. I am not asking for a Cedar Point Record breaker just a decent coaster and maybe a few more thrill rides.

Would they ever do something like this maybe with a theme?

No. That ride works at Cedar Point, but not at a world class theme park IMO.

I'd rather want something else than that, even if they heavily theme a version of that to fit in the land.

Dang this is all really disappointing to hear, really starting to feel like I do only make up the 1% of attendance. I literally did just got my pass again after not having one for years.

I wouldn't mind a Intamin/Werner Stengel Twist and Turn Coaster. Looks like an omnimover, runs down the track like a coaster car. Each car independently spins. Rode one for the first time this weekend and would really work well with Potter.

So this?

Personally, I still think the best (and most likely to me), is the Dynamic SFX coaster.

It'd be the next step in high end dark coasters, would have a good capacity; and that it'd be a possibility to incorporate screen based media and practical effects into the attraction at the same time. It's just my take, but that's how I see it.

Yes, an Indoor; High capacity darkcoaster that would have an emphasis on thrills, while also telling a story using state of the art practical and digital effects.

The park needs more attractions that can get people out of the heat of, and that Kong, Hulk, and the DC replacement should hopefully help out with the situation.

Out of the heat?? 10 out of Universal's 16 are indoor and 4 at IOA, I think they have enough. This is part of my frustration too many inside rides but obviously I am different.

Islands of Adventure was originally trying to fix those problems of having too many indoor attractions when the park originally opened; but now, you need to find a good mix of both indoor and outdoor attractions, to keep people in the park and to act as a way for making sure people don't get heat problems out in the sun.

Plus, I don't entirely get the rap for a park having mostly indoor attractions, as it allows more controlled environments and experiences for the guest, which will help drive up spending.

It slightly limits your audience not everybody wants to just do rides with a screen I believe there are way more Thrill Parks I guess you could call them than theme parks like Disney or Universal/IOA I could be wrong though. I mean look how many Six Flags Parks there are alone. Your other points I can see keeping the guest more comfortable.

Busch Gardens has way too many outdoor attractions, but I go there for the coasters so it's okay. SeaWorld is becoming another great coaster destination. IOA and Universal don't have to be coaster havens too. I think the SeaWorld parks (and to some extent Fun Spot) has that covered for Central Florida.

When SeaWorld and Busch Gardens try to create dark rides and simulators they fall short (Antarctica, Akbar's Adventure Tours, etc.) Disney and Universal are good at them so if they want to make more I'm all for it.

The parks are all carving out their own niches and focusing on what they do well. You want thrills get a SeaWorld/Busch Gardens pass. You want immersive dark rides and state of the art simulators and themed attractions, go with Disney or Universal.

No one ever says "Man, Busch Gardens is building another coaster? They already have like five. Can't they do something different!?!" But Universal adds another ride with screenz and it's the end of the world. All the rides at Universal offer different experiences the same way the coasters offer different experiences at another park, even when they use similar ride technology.

And personally, I won't miss Dragon Challenge that much because Montu at BG is the same ride type with a much more fulfilling track layout (especially considering the lack of dueling on the DC.)

Alright yeah you got me, guess I am just more frustrated about just getting an annual pass again after years and now I already wish I didn't if Universal/IOA are going to go down this path.

Well, regardless of what path they take, nothing new is going to be open other than F&F before your pass expires.

Well hopefully they won't make any major changes unless they do put a Taron style coaster in place of Dragons. I know doubtful but would still be awesome.

Keep in mind, it was mentioned by some of the higher ranking sources that after Fast and Furious, they should be toning down of screen based elements for future attractions, case in point; Nintendo.

If it's going to be a dark coaster, which I think should; I'd have to imagine it's be Mummy taking the theme park equivalent of steroids. High end, modern day. And, that they wouldn't be as limited as per say when Mummy was in development for Orlando and Hollywood (poor Hollywood) for creative possibilities.

What will be a dark coaster? In place of Dragons?

Yes that is it. The reason why I say its the best is due to the fact none of the seats are locked, you get this weird effect where its literally stuff going on everywhere and a quite a bit of the time where you when its dark enough you can't see or know where the track is taking you. Its a very immersive ride experience which would be an upgrade. I do like the SFX coaster but I have a feeling it will seem redundant after gringott uses some of that technology already.
