I'm trying to envision a plausible scenario where this attraction ends up pleasantly surprising me...

... I'm coming up empty. Unless the bulk of the ride is somehow not the 360 room.

Expectations really color an opinion of an attraction, especially when the initial expectations are too high. I've said this before, but it bears repeating. The first times I rode Mummy and Jurassic Park, I was disappointed. My expectations were sky high. But after three or four rides, I came down to earth, and ended up loving both attractions. They still remain two of my favorite theme park rides....So, with our low expectations for F&F, and keeping in mind Joe heard some good stuff about the attraction, it will certainly be interesting to see the responses once it opens to the public. If they added just one good practical scene, I think the whole thing would work. Keeping my finger crossed.

This is literally the only thing I'm looking forward to. And okay, I want to see how cumbersome those preshows will be.

I really, really love scenes like that, too.

But that's so not enough to compensate for what the rest of the attraction (likely) will be!

Whatever happens with this thing, I'm praying that the graphics that are gonna be on that screen around me are not as atrocious as the ones in the behind the scenes video.

One of the things worth note is that Hollywood took the extra capital when they did to change the time of day for the ride film of Supercharged, which if you consider that and the changes made to Orlandos Kong film, we will most likely see something similar take place to where they update the Orlando version to match more of the San Francisco landscape and the time of the day.

It doesn't excuse Hollywood's graphics still on a similar quality to GTAV, which is while great for a video game, isn't great here.

May well be. I've always said that you need to experience the outdoor section of Kong to get the attraction's full effect. When Kong just runs the indoor portion it's a significantly lesser ride....Also, it will be interesting to see what we get in the final F&F scene, after the 360 tunnel, in place of the Kong AA. That could also be a make or break part of the ride.

It's been rumored that the 360 sequence would be rather similar to near identical to Hollywoods, outside of some changes of-course (Changing the skyline of buildings from LA to San Fran, updates to the CG, E.T.C.).

I do think that they aren't just going to do some patchwork on the cg, and that I am wondering how they may try to update the CG as they did it with Kong in Orlando when that was converted to a full-fledged attraction.

I remember when Niles, who experienced both Hollywood and Orlando Kong, in his TPI review said it was night and day difference in the film between Hollywood & Orlando. I hope that happens with F&F also.
