Halloween Horror Nights 28 General Discussion

So... Let me try to share some information to feed speculation without giving away the goat.

- I've heard about a new house location this year.
- Including Dead Exposure, I've heard details on five potential originals. One is extremely likely (95%). One is very likely (85%). I have no reason to doubt the other two yet.
- I can see one of the potential originals MAYBE actually being an IP.
- I'm confident (90%) on two unannounced IPs.
- I'm 75% confident on one other IP.
- There are 2 IPs I'm 50/50 on.
- Everything else, including some expected favorites, I'd chalk as longshots.

Okay, so adding up what you know and including “Stranger Things” gives us an eleven house count. I recall you saying that they were considering a tenth house vs. second show this year and with the new location you mentioned learning about I have to wonder if that extra house came to fruition?

Ok, so after some digging I found an article for Hollywood from 2017 where Jason Blum was talking about how he really wants Halloween 2018 to be a maze for this year’s event. That one has to be one of the 90% IP’s, there’s just so many things going for it that I can’t see why they wouldn’t do it aside from spoilers

Could the original-not original be an original take on the Classic monsters or is it something that is very similar to an IP, much like Dead Exposure seems like a follow up to the ending of 28 Weeks Later when the zombies invade France.

Well Legacy did say that one original is extremely likely(95%). So if we were to have 5 originals/5 IP’s, that cuts out two of the 7 we’ve narrowed down to.

I think it could be a pretty solid zone too. I didn’t really know how they would translate TrT to a zone but that ended up being amazing. Imagine a Lost Boys zone set in the Boardwalk in San Francisco

I like the sound of that. Guess no Vamp ‘87, although I really hope they do an original based on Poltergeist since I think it has more potential than the actual movie

Or yes to a Vamp sequel and they would not do a scare zone of The Lost Boys because it would:

A) be too similar to the house

B) cost money to have the IP

His comment can be read either way depending upon which one wants more, Vamp or The Lost Boys

Question for you @Legacy: is there a restriction on what actors can do or say in an IP scare zone? For the Purge zones there was really only ever the person with the microphone and the victims who talked much and for Trick ‘r Treat I only recall old man Kreeg being vocal. Is this something that is down to the actors or does it come from something in the contract for the IP?

To your question, yes. There are limitations. There's actually always limitations, IP or not. The scareactors are playing characters. Whatever they say has to be in line with what that character says. It's also EXTREMELY difficult to talk behind a mask, so most won't bother.
