It's really not that surprising that Disney would promote this land. As far as the C, D, or E ticket...90% of people watching this have no idea what that even means.

Disney is marketing the land as a whole, not just the new rides. Obviously the shooting gallery has been open for years, yet they still promoted it as part of the new land on the show.

Crowds will definitely be insane this summer. That's a big, No thanks from me personally. I'll wait for Star Wars before stepping foot in that park again.

It's not surprising they would promote the land and I get wanting to get families down there. It makes sense from a marketing standpoint they do this. That wasn't my point though.

My point was that the over-the-top marketing for this land is going to cause crazy crowds at DHS this summer and as I said, there's still only 6 rides, with TSL having 3 of them. It's going to be tough on ops until MMRR and SWGE opens next year. Obviously once SWGE opens crowds are going to be huge, but I actually think things are going to be worse for the park in the period of time where TSL is open and SWGE isn't than once SWGE opens.

I see TSL drawing a lot of people who wouldn't have come to the park otherwise and the park as a whole isn't going to offer a ton of things to do still.

Do we think that they will have a line just to get into the land like they did with Pandora? Its going to be tough getting people out since there will only be one way in and one way out until Star Wars Land opens next year.

I'm with @JungleSkip on really being excited about the Saucers ride. It sounds dumb to say, but if you've been on Maters Junkyard Jamboree, you probably get why. It's a fun, themed whip ride that pretty much all of the family will enjoy and be able to enjoy. It will have a 32" height requirement, but in reality most that are 2.5-3 years old will meet that.

If anyone hasn't ridden Mater's yet, they're in for a treat. This ride system is so much fun.

Nick said:
Unfortunately, since TSL is only adding 2 rides to the park instead of maybe a few more flats like it could've easily fit, Slinky and Saucers will have insane lines. On the flip side, next year is another big year for DHS, so hopefully those insane lines will migrate from TSL over to Star Wars and Runaway Railway (MMRR will have no height requirement by all accounts).

It's unconscionable that this land is only opening with 2 rides, neither of which are all that capacity friendly.

Disney just cashing in on endless nostalgia. The last time I went (the first time in almost 15 years) I couldn't believe how crowded it was during a non-holiday period, and how much the vacation had to be planned around fastpasses and rope drops. Really killed my desire to go back anytime soon, but I guess there are 50+ million every year to take my place. It's really sad that these expansions don't deal with those issues. Star Wars will bring millions of extra visitors to Hollywood Studios ala Potter, and TSL should be a pressure release valve with capacity galore.

This place will be a madhouse for years and years, and I think it will get *worse* with Star Wars opening.

I mean, that's how it is in Pandora, as well. They seem to handle it ok.

Can't you exit Pandora into Africa where the Festival of the Lion King is?

Going out the side back exit is much better then trying to exit the land through the "main" entrance. It will definitely be a bottleneck in/out of Toystory land.

Didn't I Read that the Midway ride would exit outside of TSL? That may help with some congestion.

Even after SW:GE opens there will only be one way in and out of the land. The tunnel from TSL to SW:GE will only be an exit from SW:GE for at least the first year.

No, it will spit people out inside TSL near the food service window/restrooms building.

I think we've gone beyond promotions. They're setting expectations too high for what they're offering. It's like if they built a slow moving simulator around a franchise based on fast action and furious scenes then are confused why the general public think it sucks.

I still don't get why there wasn't a third entrance. It seems like there was room for it

well, I'd argue this land is definitely marketed to families with young children, and young children will be much more impressed than the adults. No (sane) adult really wants to ride Dumbo either.

I think the typical Disney GP will be happy with the land. It's really their type of attractions and the characters they love, AND it's NEW. They've been starved for attractions for quite a while....But, they will definitely be upset that it will be tough to experience the rides since the capacity is so low on both new attractions, and the land is going to be really crowded. That's where the dissatisfaction factor will figure in, not in the land, but the inability to ride the rides......I can see this scenario happening.....little Billy (crying) "But Mommy, why can we just look like at the rides but not ride them?" ...Mommy; "Well Billy, those kid's parents have lots of money and they can stay in Disney hotels. Daddy and Mommy aren't so rich and have to stay in other kinds of hotels. So we just get to look at the rides but not ride the rides. But they are certainly pretty to look at. Maybe if you study hard and grow up to be a doctor, your kids will be able to ride too. In the meantime, just run off and play soldier with the Green Army Men".

Does this land have any sort of expansion pad? I could see them adding in a flat-ride or two next season if the land is so popular.

I think they'd have to get creative. Perhaps near the land entrance where the original plans called for some buildings and a shop?
