My vote Terminator, it is outdated and just not that good. Also do something with Shrek, it would be better if they didn't have 2 movies that makes the story just seem weird.

There's three Shrek films, not counting the short created for the attraction.

I think what he was trying to say is that 2 films have passed since they got "hitched" and makes the attraction feel weird now.

I'm not sure that I would completely agree with that perspective; They do a good job of setting up through the preshow that the attraction takes place between the first and second films. By that logic, you should never see the Death Star in Star Tours - but you most certainly will because it's iconic.

Man, Potterland is gonna wrack people's brains then since it has a lot of stuff represented that take place in certain books but no longer exist in later ones.

Well in Star Tours, isn't the whole setup before we enter in the World of Lucas is that it's a scene being filmed? That' why they can get away with that.

In Shrek, you just sorta pop into the lives of Shrek and Fiona. Sorta gets bland. Especially since the first movie is nearly 10 years old.

The premise behind Star Tours is that you're actually taking a tour with the Star Tours travel company. It gets a bit jumbled in the lame attempt to fit it in at the Studio park, but in the other parks, it's much more clear because it lacks the confusing soundstage facade.

But no, you're not supposedly being filmed, you're supposedly really there.

And in addition, Shrek Goes Fourth is coming out next year which will make the attraction even more outdated.

The Shrek attraction isn't even ten years. I'm not sure why anyone would think it will be replaced in less than a decade. Beyond that, it's *still* very popular. You may not like it; hell, I DO like it and I still skip it every single time I go to the park - but people are still generally pretty crazy about it.

If the discussion is to center on the fairly negative concept of removing something rather than adding, I don't think Shrek 4-D is a smart *or* safe bet for this one.

While I do love the Shrek attraction, it is my opinion that the film should be updated to a new theme. Or, even run 2 different films in each theatre?

They should atleast fix the seats so that it doesn't make that awful noise everytime they move.

Again though, the attraction is only six years old. That's nothing in terms of a film attraction. The only time you'd see a situation of a 4D film switching out more frequently is when the park itself did not invest in the creation of it - in other words, one of the generic ones like Haunted Lighthouse / Pirates 4D / Sesame Street / etc. Yes - Busch had a hand in the development (with the exception of Sesame Street) but they were designed to be licensed and sold or even rented to other parks. The difference is something like Shrek or HISTA or Muppets, etc, is a stand-alone attraction designed to be its own unique draw. When the park sinks money into something like that, you're much less likely to see it swapped out in less than ten years.

Now, the only difference is Shrek DOES exist outside of Universal - in two of the Warner Brothers Movie World parks. By that logic it makes it possible, IF the plain and simple fact didn't persist that it is VERY popular, which makes talk of its removal completely pointless. It's just not going to happen. Neutron? Sure. Maybe. Possible there, yes. Shrek? Absolutely, postiively, 100% not going to happen. Not for a long, long time - if ever.

Talk about serious need for a refurb. Haha.

If they were to replace it all together, I have a hard time imagining what they could put there. I'm assuming it would have to be kid friendly since it's in KidZone. That building seems like it's freaking HUGE though.

I just DON'T get all this E.T. hate that I've been seeing on here lately! E.T. is a great, classic attraction - and honestly, considering Universal's typical track record, it's in REALLY good shape for a ride of it's age! I for one most certainly hope it is NOT removed!

USJ is replacing theirs with an indoor coaster.... We most certainly do not need THAT in place of a great dark ride!

Oh I don't necessarily want it to be removed. It's a good ride to hit up every once in a while. It's like a once a trip ride for me. I'd hate to see more classics removed. I was upset when BTTF was taken out, and when the day comes out that Jaws is taken out, I'll lose alot of respect for Universal. E.T. is in the middle ground where I can live without it but have no problem seeing it when I visit.

Honestly, call me dorky but The E.T. Adventure is something I try to hit up every time I'm in the park. The only other constant prior to Rockit opening was MIB: Alien Attack. There have been plenty of times that E.T. and MIB were the only things I did in USF prior to leaving.

Yeah, when I said "something", I meant "refurb". A very bad one.

It's respectable, I can see why. Some people like the nostalgia of an older attraction. I'm that way with the Jaws. I make it a point to ride it every time I'm at USF. Only other ride I make it a point to see is also MIB. That's one reason I love HHN, always get to do awesome houses and those 2 rides.

I enjoy well-done, old school dark rides a lot. I think E.T. is a bit to elaborate and high tech to really call "old school" - but for the sake of example, one of my favorite rides in the Magic Kingdom is Snow White's Scary Adventure. It realy is what a classic dark ride should be. Great but minimalist sets, some fun gags, great lighting, and a fun, peppy little ride system. On that level, that might be part of what I find so appealing in the E.T. Adventure.

I really hope it won't be T2 or E.T. because for me they are both classic Universal. I do think both could use some tweaking and an extensive refurb of some kind but both attractions are still incredibly popular. T2:3D has always been one of my favorite attractions at Universal and I still think it's extremely enjoyable, no matter how many times I see it.

I know it's unlikely but perhaps Universal could add more attractions before they start taking away the classics. There's quite a lot of unused space around the park that was once home to an attraction of some kind, so why not bring something new to those? Again, I know most of them are merely soundstages but it's space that could be used for good.
