So, can we get a Stranger Things ride now?

The closest I'd ever think we'd get to anything close, is more along the lines of a walk-through attraction, similar to The Walking Dead Attraction. Otherwise, I see no chance in hell of a Year-Round ST attraction.

That said, if crowds prove strong; I can see this easily become a multi-year (and probably is). My concern, lies to Hollywood, and if they may hurt chances more due to..let's just say, a hesitance of faith in their offerings.

That said, is that discussion REALLY needed right now? Honestly, enjoy the event; is what I'd say, especially as it's the first night of the event.

Stranger Things was originally pitched by A&D with both seasons. Marketing split it up.

Season two was always guaranteed.

Also, to speak a little bit of crowds; even though it's opening night and that we should expect changes on the immediate, it's fascinating to see them screw up Seed's of Extinction that bad on just queue & exit. Talk about not thinking of the right thing to do.

Do TrT and SoX merge at that intersection? Which way do they exit? Near Barney or ET?

Well, that was without a doubt the most crowded opening night I've been to (And I've been to 27 of them). Unfortunately my hubby doesn't have an annual, which added to the misery. In five hours we did a total of... 2 houses. Plus dinner and shopping. The wait time on the app and posted for Stranger Things was incredibly off, which is what caused it. Posted at 100 minutes. Actual wait time: 255 minutes. There's no excuse for that kind of misrepresentation

Holy crap. 4+ hours??? I know Stranger Things is popular, but man, that's rough. Nothing is worth that kind of a wait.

And this is a year with 10 houses, AoV and two zones that have mini-shows (Vamp and Chucky). Gonna be a long year if these types of wait times continue.

I can easily see Stranger Things replacing TWDA at USH once they've used it for all it's worth over the next 2-3 years.

Sorry misquoted myself. It was 2 hours, 25 minutes. But still way off from the posted time. And the app never corrected the wait time all night

Yes, and it would seem we have two chainsaw hoard's with the one that's in San Fran now being a thing.

The exits merge right by the entrance of trick r treat and then both exit through the ET side.

Around 10ish they moved back the trick r treat Marge point and doubled the width of the exit which helped.

Talk about major screwups. Apparently they scheduled people only until 1;15. (In what world do they think houses have a 15 minute wait even at close?). So apparently they simply shut the doors to Stranger Things in the face of people who had been waiting 2 hours. I guess that explains the insanely long line at guest services.

That makes zero sense why they would just shut the door. Saw always had crazy lines at the end of the night last year and they simply extended the cast for pretty much every night of the run. To shut the doors on people who've been waiting is odd to say the least.

Although... if it was reported to the Stage Manager that even at close, the line was still 1.5-2 hours long, then maybe they made the right call. A 45 minute shift puts enough stress on someone with the movements that are required over and over, so consider that they had already been "on stage" for part of their last shift and they were STILL facing another 2 hours, uninterrupted, of going from stressed to just physically exhausted.

Being a scareactor requires you to take proper care of your body, eat proper meals and drink lots of water. It really could've just got to the point where they had to make a call and they decided to actually take the scareactors well-being into consideration.

Well, even during normal hours the closing crew was never scheduled 15 minutes past closing. At minimum it was 30, but more common to be 45 or in peak, an hour or more. Besides running the guests through there is also trash (hose bins dont empty themselves and custodial doesn't do the ones inside attraction queues),general cleanup and sometimes paperwork.

As for tonights fiasco, Guest Services ended up giving free HHN passes and free express to Stranger Things and in a few cases, refunds. But yeah, in 27 years of HHN, I have never heard of this happening. Even in year one (with just the one house) it was a 3 hour wait at closing and they still ran everyone through.

Scare Actors have to be asked if they’re willing to extend past their out time. Tonight, not enough of them wanted to. They closed the house because most scenes would be without a scare actor. Either way the guests are going to get mad. The solution? Make their shifts longer, but most weeks are already five days so that means each performer will be getting scheduled forced overtime on weeks with 2am close. That’s not going to happen.
