The scene where Mando and Mayfield are inside the base and Mayfield is like, I can't do it because I used to serve under that guy and Mando just says "Give it to me". That was an EXTREMELY well written, directed and acted scene. I could really feel the desperation in Mando there. Baby Yoda is literally the only being in the Galaxy that Din would be willing to take off his helmet for in front of other people. It really sort of drove home how much he cares for this kid and how much he's willing to sacrifice (in this case, his code).

Having just watched that episode, couldn't they have worked around that by having Mayfeld put *his* helmet back on and quickly taking it off while using the terminal, allowing the two to sneak in and out without alerting the generals?

Of course, that obviously robs the show of the opportunity to get Mando to take his helmet off and loses the action at the end. But it's still a HISHE-worthy plot hole.

I thought that as well upon first watch and common sense dictated that would've been the right move at that point. But the scene we got not only was much more intriguing, but as the scene progressed to the sit-down where Mayfeld is talking to his former officer made it very clear exactly why he turned around and said he couldn't do it to begin with. It wasn't because he was afraid of being recognized from my perspective, it was because he was so pissed at that guy, he was always gonna kill him if he went in that room.

Maybe we'll get some clarification on The Book of Boba Fett tomorrow:

What clarification do you need ? They had already announced a Fett limited series coming which is what The Book of Boba Fett will be.

A Boba Fett show was NOT announced beforehand. Rumored, but not announced.

They announced it coming December 2021 in the pot-credits, which is when Mandalorian Season 3 was scheduled for. Many are confused on if Boba Fett is a Mando Season 3 subtitle or if it's it's own limited series. I'm pretty firmly believing it's the latter, but I fully understand why there's confusion since I myself am not even 100% sure.

Maybe "Book of Fett is a "prelude" or prologue to season 3?

I think it’ll be a prelude in the sense that it’ll come out before Season 3? I think this will be a miniseries and Din won’t be in the series. It’s possible that in MCU fashion, the events of Boba will set up plot lines for S3 of Mando, though.

Of course, if they both are separate and coming out the same month... will Boba drop like a Netflix show all at once (or in two batches over two weeks or something?)

It would be cool if Boba's just some mob boss on a chair some lowly gang member has to deal with. Then that gang member gets in too deep and makes a fatal error, and it becomes about how this no-name guy somehow has to evade the most dangerous bounty hunter in the galaxy.

But it'll probably be about Boba going on some kind of adventure.

I really think since its a Mini Series It will be about Boba but also the people who come to Palace...thinking it will also be a way to introduce the Black Suns/Pikes into the live action movies/TV shows.

Also man two Star Wars show at around the same time if not airing at the same time? Thank You Dave/John

I don't see how it makes any marketing sense to release two Star Wars Live Action series concurrently, so i'm still cautious to say that that will happen, especially since if they were released back-to-back, Disney would retain subscribers who may otherwise unsubscribe after one series ends. Maybe Boba comes out in December and Mando S3 waits until Early 2022?

If I'm not mistaken, former lucasfilm staff recently clarified that they saw Mando Season 3 and Book of Boba Fett with 2 different shooting schedules, but thats to be taken with a grain of salt until its confirmed confirmed.
Personally, I'm in the party of believing its a limited series. They probably just didn't want to announce it earlier and wanted to preserve the surprise for the finale, which was the right move imo.

Well it made for a cool post-credit moment, but I also heard a lot of people theorizing that Boba might die by the end of the season, so they probably also wanted to preserve some sense of mystery. I never believed that, but I know a decent amount did.

And I agree with you on it being two different shows. I'm just very skeptical, as I said above, that both will be airing in December at the same time.

Jon Favreau on GMA now. He announced The Book of Boba Fett IS separate and it is the next chapter that Kathy was talking about. No Season 3 until 2022 it would seem.

So, The Mandalorian won't begin production until after The Book of Boba Fett releases (it is in pre-production).

Those other Volumes that Disney is building can't get done soon enough. Disney has too many shows in need of their use. Of course I assume Fennec and Boba will appear in Mando S3, so it's probably just easier to wait.

Favreau makes it sound like THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT will flow pretty directly into MANDO Season 3. He said Season 3 will go into production as soon as BOBA FETT is done.

I'd guess it will arrive in February(ish) of '22.

That does raise the question of when ANDOR and OBI-WAN will air.

My guess would be may or later for those two shows.

I know its weird and they should be earlier but unless they come out this year just makes sense. Bad Batch my guess is around may this year is when we will see that

So I houses this thread is the best fit for this. I was thinking about how the events at the end of Chapter 16 and what we know from the Sequel Trilogy do lead to a potential very intriguing series. This is probably years down the line, but I think a Knights of Ren/Young Ben series could totally work. We'd finally get to see more of what happens during that period as I feel like we were robbed of a lot in the ST and it would be a story driven way to bring Luke in as character that is around as a supporting character. And since this would be the older, more grizzled Luke, Hamill could actually portray him himself if they did it soon enough.

Andor is actually further along in production than Mando is right now, but that show is 12 episodes and it's not using The Volume as much. TBH, I think Mando would be a good show to have around March. A lot of people are in school at that time, so they Mary not watch other shows, but they WILL watch The Mandalorian. I wouldn't be surprised if Andor arrives before Mando 3, although I don't think it's likely.

I watched S2 over the last couple days after being spoiled on most of the big reveals and thought this season was roughly on par with the first. I think that S1 is more consistent but S2 has better highs. The series works best when it's not connecting into other areas of the Star Wars universe, so I have low expectations for how Book of Fett, Ashoka, and Rangers will turn out.
