For sure. They could construct half of the event's houses in that parade building, if the only thing they had to worry about was the house itself. But, you need space for storage, break space for the actors and tech, offices for production teams to run their houses smoothly... PLUS queue lines...
Was there ever any merit to the rumor of Universal slowly buying out the land they used to own off Vineland, where the apartment complex that butts up against their property line sits? I had heard that complex was not renewing leases, but that was many moons ago (before COVID).
I'd wager the most amount of houses you'd want in that area is 5 total... maybe 6, but that's really pushing it. Not when there is other real estate in the park to be used instead (both parade buildings, sprung tents, etc.)
Think of the queue lines!
Few things to keep in mind with the soundstages that are usually available:
SS22 is the smallest soundstage, so it will most likely be limited to one regular sized house. It has been known to hold two houses, or split-houses, in the past, but recent years have shown a trend of one large house...
Hence my question above.
@jtsalien is the new building not big enough to move everything over? Or is the wardrobe building not prime location for expansion?
He played a character for 30 years, which many of us know to be the Jim Carrey. Now he's just being who he always was, sans the responsibility of having to be funny. He's found peace within himself and just likes to make art - nothing crazy about that, in my opinion. But I digress.
I think...
Did the old Studio Styles store in Hollywood close down? Last I checked it was turning into a SLoP gift shop.
If so, doesn't that hold at least some value for the Shrek>SLoP rumors?
Yes, as well as health services and some of park services.. it's quite busy. Combine that with the close proximity of the cafeteria and wardrobe, PLUS construction right next door.. could you imagine the traffic?
