This house is an absolute blast. After preview, I thought nothing this year was going to touch DMP but I can't help but feel that this is my favorite house through opening weekend.
My first run was average. And after one run I would probably agree with most of the things being said here and...
I feel that sometimes it takes some time to warm up to some houses. Especially when some aspects might not be working well. To me, houses always feel too short the first time I go through them - but once I know what I'm in for I always end up finding more to like and picking up on new things. I...
No. You walk right into the first scene described in the EW article of him getting his mind sucked out of him.
I’ll add: Dead Man and Legends had my favorite facades of the night.
What a night.
Gonna skip the spoiler tag bc I'm tired and there have already been tons of spoilers but fair warning there will be many.
This is a rough order but keep in mind things are bound to change and I don't have great recollection of some of these houses cause, well, alcohol is half off...
Monsters is all mummy and seems to be a different ending depending on cast like icons. Loved it but probably biased as mummy is my favorite monster. Did reuse a couple sets from 29 but oh well. Facade was great and scareactor design was strong
Blumhouse is the worst of the 3 so far. Black phone far outshined freaky unfortunately. Felt like a Hollywood house (sorry Hollywood). Weird break in the middle and nothing unique in terms of sets or scares. Freaky really had the potential and felt like they dropped the ball.
Fiesta was fun but nothing to write home about. Was mostly villagers which I expected and the puppets for the chup pups are pretty good. More Sabre tooth Cat than Wolf like creature. Sets were pretty cool but was mostly close quarters. Felt kind of like a tent house especially having just come...
To be fair.. I was blind as a bat through it. I think the house is funny in concept and setting but the bugs are not funny or goofy in any way imo. It’s pretty gnarly and if you don’t like bugs it’s going to be rough lol. Also, they were not kidding about the holes.
DEAD MANS PIER YALL
this is everything Carnival Graveyard wanted to be and more!! Some sets bleed into others and you can look back towards the end and see the facade. It really is melancholy. Sets are mind blowing. They are really flexing their muscles in terms of vertical sets and depth...
Got through bugs!!
(Mild spoilers)
GROSS! Remember how some of us thought it would be kinda comedic? Not even close. In your face tight and lots of legit looking insects. Excited to go through this again with properly dilated pupils. Ran into 3 different walls.
edited to avoid double post...
10. Hellblock Horror
I feel as though this house feels the least fleshed out of all the originals. I'm growing a bit tired of mod podge best of type houses like SCarey, so hopefully this will feature some unique creature designs we haven't seen before. The setting also seems the least...
