    The Future of Parisian Courtyard

I don't think the ride vehicles are that big of an issue. Two seats isn't uncommon for this kind of ride. Even though they don't have have distinct seats, rides like Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and Peter Pan's Flight really only seat two. The overall throughput of the ride isn't great compared to rides...

The Future of Springfield/Simpsons Ride (Hollywood)

I strongly doubt they're going to extend the life of the Simpsons contract. The ride needs to be replaced. There are probably elements of that ride that are 30+ years old and it's just winding down. It makes the most sense for Universal to keep the ride going up until the contract expires. Then...

    Toothsome Chocolate Emporium (USH)

They've also trimmed down their menu a bunch. I also went this last weekend and they weren't even using the menu books anymore, just laminated paper. Pretty much all of their brunch offerings are gone and I think a few of the entrees.

The Future of the Saddle Ranch plot

It hasn't been paved over entirely. It looks like they put down sheets of wood to level off the surface. They had something set up the other day for something I think with NBCUTelevision that involved silver trusses and stage lighting, so it was probably just to give a level seating area instead...

State of USH - What's Next?

It's possible that they're being considered, but it's unlikely that they're being seriously considered for anything in the near-term (within the next ten years). Soundstages are easy to "relocate" because they're largely just empty space. There are other elements to them and some of the nicer...

    (P515) Potential Hotel for USH

Yeesh, had a lot more to say about this than I thought I did. I just... I don't understand this sentiment, this open hostility towards the hotel. The Universal Hilton has been trying to expand since 2017, pretty much immediately after Potter opened. Clearly, they saw that there would be rising...

State of USH - What's Next?

Oh, definitely! The Barham expansion is exactly what that's for. I was just referring to, specifically, the removal of the backlot sets (Little Europe, Courthouse Square, etc.) in favor of something like StageCraft like wutisgood suggested. The new Barham stages just replaced parking lots and a...

State of USH - What's Next?

I'm not really seeing that happen for a couple of reasons. First, physical sets like in the backlot are way more practical for most productions. The Volume seems to do really well for things like Sci-Fi and Fantasy where you can't exactly go out and film on location, but you would still need...

Super Nintendo World - Hollywood (General Discussion)

I'll take a stab at a different approach. I've seen you take this "conservative" standpoint pretty frequently. You're convinced the reason that the land is so small is because Universal Creative or USH Management or someone didn't believe that the IP would do well and so they trimmed the land...

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hollywood

Yeesh, I was just there the other day and I didn't even notice. That almost looks like they started to replace it and then just gave up halfway through. As far as staffing goes, I wouldn't be surprised if SNW siphoned a bunch of team members away from various places around the park. USH tends...

This Just In - Current USH Happenings

It used to be part of the studio, the section with the dancing cars for Fast and Furious. It's between the picture cars and the Jurassic stuff. I'm pretty skeptical of what Jsland is trying to imply here. He talks over the clip in the video, so we can't hear what sounds he's referring to and he...

    NBCUniversal Evolution Plan

2024 is too ambitious for the F&F Coaster. They can't even start demolition on the site until early next year early next year and then they have to build and test the darn thing. It took about two and a half years for VelociCoaster to go from construction walls to open, so I think it's more...

    Entrance Statue?

Here's a picture of the entrance as it looked in 1990, according to the guy who posted it. At some point within the next five years after this picture was taken, this entrance was torn down and replaced with what we see today with the arch. My guess is that the fountain was installed sometime...

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hollywood

Am I the only one who thinks the new wands are a little... lackluster? Some of them are nice but I think a lot of them are kind of gaudy and don't look great. We also definitely got shafted on the USH-unique wand. The Walnut with Dragon Heartstring wand looks terrible compared to the others.

    Toothsome Chocolate Emporium (USH)

I think there's a chance but I don't think it's a very big one. While it looks like they could open it before the end of the year, that would make their opening in the middle of one of the absolute busiest times of the year. Good for CityWalk capacity and for financial reasons, maybe, but...

The Future of Springfield/Simpsons Ride (Hollywood)

Replacing Springfield with Diagon Alley would be an absolutely abysmal place to put it. First of all, I think we should skip Diagon entirely and have something unique that makes USH a destination rather than just "A Smaller Version of UOR". But, setting that aside, so much traffic goes through...

The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle - Hollywood

It seems to be weekends only and I think it's through the last weekend of April. Just to cover the Spring Break peak season.

    NBCUniversal Evolution Plan

They might but it seems unlikely for the near future. Stage 12, where they currently film The Voice, is massive, the biggest stage on the lot. The next largest stage is barely 2/3 the size and the new ones that they've built over by Park Lake are even smaller than that. There's just no place...

What's the mystery project/land clearing in the backlot?

It wasn't targeted at anything specific, just a general "in case anyone was getting confused." Yup! The Red Sea announcement came Summer 2016, right on the heels of Potter opening. To me, it felt like a way to drum up excitement for the next few years of theme park development. And then we got...

What's the mystery project/land clearing in the backlot?

Just to clarify, the expansion mentioned in the Urbanize LA article and the construction over on the east end of the property (where the Superstore facade and the childcare center were) are not the same thing. The Urbanize LA Expansion is what's under construction adjacent to the Lankershim...
