So here we go with another update.
Final piece of the inverted drop
As we know yesterday they were struggling to marry up the last piece of inverted drop track. They spent most of today working on it!!!
Rogue track piece as of first thing this morning
This is one of the offending footers; the toilet block doesn’t really affect it.
You can see the track piece at the top of the element
They worked at the top
And the bottom
By mid-afternoon the guy from Gerst gave me the thumbs up, after much pushing, pulling and probably swearing it was sorted. Let’s hope the next pieces go a bit smoother!
Here are a couple of shots of the completed first drop
Evacuation lift
The evacuation lift for the vertical lift was fitted today as you can see in the following pics.
The station
The station started to get a lick of paint
Hypnotizer
The final leg went into position, here is how it happened.
Lower leg already in place.
Putting the upper part together,
This time they themed it before they put it in place.
The hypnotizer has 3 motors that will spin 3 of the disks; here is one of those motors
Lifting the hypnotizer into place.
Fixing to the marmaliser
And the other half of the leg
Close up and overview
The Hypnotizer looks great and will be a real head chopper too.
Other
The Gerst office has gone!!!!!!!
And the area was getting a clean and new fences have been put up. Alton towers staff also cleaned out the vending machines. I fully expect this area to be re-opened to the public in the next couple of days. Should give us some new photography angles.
Smiler Roodles, Smile. Always.
Last couple of shoots are close ups of the Hypnotizer disks
