Glad you're having a good time!

If you're considering seeing something on broadway, a crowd sourced list of the cheapest tickets are here: BroadwayForBrokePeople.com

If you check out Grand Central Terminal, the Oyster bar underneath is famous and is owned and operated by the same family since it opened. It's an icon in an iconic building (but I'm not an oyster guy).

Also a couple blocks up in Urbanspace Vanderbuilt, a food hall with mini-stands of great food from throughout the city. They have Dough doughnut which are huge and put you right into a diabetic bliss.

If you go to the Metropolitian Museum of Art, you can get the views from its roof and enjoy looking at the park from on top of the building. The Egyptian section in there is my favorite.

Anything in particular you're looking for? Quiet work day so I can do your research lol.

A big yes on the METRO Egyptian section, especially the tomb. I've spent days wandering through the rooms. Great world famous art. I also really liked the Greek & Roman sections with the ancient artifacts.

Day 3 - NYC

Another hot one out there today.

Woke early, so headed out for a wander and grab breakfast whilst I left sam to lie in. Pastries, coffee, OJ and a banana and were good to go.

I'd planned to do a midday boat tour so we had a couple hours to kill as it wasn't 10am yet so we headed up 42nd to see the Grand Central station. Sucha stunningly beautiful building weigh we really enjoyed exploring. We found the oyster bar and also had some fun at the whispering gallery, that's so cool I was surprised how well it worked, ended having a chat with a Spanish family across the other side.

Found the dirty patch left on the ceiling of the main building. Anyone who doesn't know, the ceiling was so filthy after neglect and grime from the old trains , so filthy you couldn't see the fine decoration in it. This had been faithfully cleaned and restored and now looks amazing. The team did leave a small patch uncleaned to serve as a reminder of how bad it was. See if you can spot it when I post photos later.

After the GC we had a quick look at the Chrysler building before walking the length of 42nd over to the Hudson. We arrived at 11.50 just in time for the midday sailing. We were on circle line best of NYC trip. The boat ride takes you round the whole of Manhattan taking in the skyline, statue of liberty and all 5 boroughs.

It is a long one, 2.5 hours, and it was real hot up on the top deck, but they had a bar, the views were amazing and the guide , Andy, was both funny and very knowledgeable. We both enjoyed this tour and would recommend as a great way to see, and learn, a lot in a short space of time. Andy, the guide, sure knew his shist when it came to Manhattan .

We got off the boat slightly scorched and hungry, the high line was only a few blocks down so we headed there and walked from one end to the other, this is a lovely walk with some stunning views, not sure how long it was but we ended up in the meatpacking district so had a wander around there and Chelsea before getting gyros rice and salad for lunch.

Food eaten the next plan was WTC, we wanted to pay ouur respects and see the 9/11 museum. we hit up 7th Avenue and walked all the way down to the financial district, we got to the museum at 18.10, the museum had a last entry of 18.00, we were denied.

We took time to reflect at the tribute but will return tomorrow for the museum.

From there we headed to Wall St so I could rub the bulls balls, it's supposed to be lucky so I gave them a little kiss too.

By this time it was pressing on so we got the subway back up to midtown to get ready for tonight. We doing THE RIDE

This is also in the new New York pass, the pass is working well, if you can get 3 attactions a day in you more than break even, so a winner for us so far, I also like being prepaid as it helps with the budget.

Off out again shortly so I'll try and post photos from today later on, catch yinz later.

So we did the ride last night and what a blast it was. The hosts on the bus were funny and the mini shows you watch on the street as you go round were good fun too.

The ride lasts for 75 minutes and takes you round some of the major landmarks of NYC, the guides are comedians and really set a great atmosphere in the bus, we were singing, dancing and laughing all the way round, such a fun way too see some of NYC.

Again this was part of our pass so the only money spent was a well deserved tip at the end.

Another busy day guys, I'll tell you all about it later, right now im after some advice please.

Gonna give the Broadway show a miss as time is pressing on and we only just got back to the room. I figured we could hit a comedy show instead.

So best comedy show and how to get cheap tickets guys?

You can't go wrong with Comedy Cellar. This is one of those places that famous names pop up into and do sets randomly.

Cover depends on the show and usually got a 2 drink/item minimum per person.

New York Line Up - Comedy CellarComedy Cellar

(also boo to skipping on a musical, but understandable with your itinerary!)

Day 4 - NYC

Having missed out on the 9/11 museum the day before this was top of the agenda for today. So far we had walked everywhere but decided to use the tube to get downtown, used an app called city planner to help with the subway this worked a treat and we were at the memorial inside 30 mins fromm leaving the room. I really rate this app and would recommend to anyone travelling in any major city.

The museum is really well done with so much to see but it also a very somber and humbling experience which made me feel both sad and proud, proud that we can stand together and rise above such evil atrocities.

After the 9/11 memorial and museum we needed something to bring the mood back up. Some of you will know that I'm a huge jokers fan so what better than a trip over to the impractical jokers homecoming exhibit.

The exhibit is located in the Staten Island museum on Staten Island, obviously. So from WTC we walked down Broadway to see battery park enroute to the Staten Island ferry.

The ferry is a free the ride and runs 24hrs a day, the iconic orange ferries have you across the water in no time offering stunning views of the statue of liberty and the Manhattan skyline on the way.

You can get the S40 bus which will take you the 2 miles round to the museum but we walked it in about 30 mins. The museum is located at snug harbor, there are quite a few things to see and do here but it was the jokers exhibit we we here for.

Being a fan I thoroughly enjoyed it here, recognising the props and gags from the shows was cool and could have spent longer there reading all the information on the walls but I couldn't help think it was a bit of trip out for what it was, anyone who isn't a fan of the show would most likely leave a little disappointed. I however was happy to be leaving with a selfie with Benjamin cat.

We got the S40 bus back to the ferry, buses run every 20 mins and we used our metro card to pay, not sure on the price as we just scanned the card and the driver grunted.

We were soon back on Manhattan island and walking back up Broadway. The plan was to make it to the big bus ticket office before 4 so we could get our open top bus tickets. We made it with minutes to spare.

Now this is a good tip guys, we had purchased or pass for 3 days but when you get the tour bus tickets these are valid for 24 hours so by leaving it until late on the last day we effectively getting an extra day out of it.

So tickets in hand we grabbed a Starbucks and jumped aboard the big bus to see lower Manhattan and get a ride back upto midtown, win win. Had me a dollar dog on the way Back to the hotel.

We couldn't decide what to do in the evening, Broadway show was out of the window due to time and we did look at the comedy clubs but by the time we were ready it 8pm and we hadnt eaten yet.

Starting at the hotel bar we had a beer whilst deciding where to eat. We're in the Korean district so found Osamils, a Korean gastro pub on 31st.

Oasmails WELCOME

loved it here, there was a good friendly atmosphere, music not too so you could talk (jeeze I'm getting old) and they had some of the best fried chicken I've ever eaten.

Next it was on to 530 5th Avenue for the largest rooftop bar in Manhattan, a nice place with stunning views of the Empire State and the rest of the skyline. Take ID as they scan everyone's.

I'd read about speakeasies before I came away and was intrigued. So when I couldn't find a bar I'd been recommended on 17th, even though Google said I was right outside I figured I'd found one.

There we no indication what so ever, just a black door down some steps, sam was a little concerned as she thought "it looked dodgy" I reassured her and rang the bell. And sure enough we were greeted at the door and led to a table in this chilled out hidden away cocktail bar.

We only stayed for one drink and it was after midnight so decided it was time to call it a night. Still time to strike off another bucket list item though, as I haileda cab on 6th to get us back. According to the driver a lot of us Brits have this on our lists.

We finished with a single from Wendy's and hit the sack after another busy but enjoyable day in NYC.

All the days attractive were covered on our pass, we could have easily fit in more too. Would highly recommend these for anyone doing NYC.

Miles walked today was less as we used the subway, the ferry, the bus and a taxi bus still clocked in at around 12.

Photos later.......

Edit. Sorry for some of the dodgy grammer, battling against small keyboard and predictive text. Fixed most now

Glad you got to see Grand Central! It might be my favorite building in city.

Also happy to hear the Ride was a blast! I’ve always wondered how that was. My only experience with those buses is when they stop right in front of me when I’m walking and I suddenly have 200 eyes on me

Hoping to get back to grand central, for a craving for oysters Rockefeller and what better place to get it, right?

Wee were pleasantly surprised by the tour, thought it might be a bit tacky but it was really all put together. The entertainment both on and off the bus were worth the fare.
