Disney realized they picked the wrong route trying to chase after big money whales, and are now having to (thankfully) expand capacity at each park by adding new additions.

Even though MK is the park that needs the most, not surprised by their strategy to expand capacity there first before working on other parks again.

In the past you bought a lot of successful companies when Disney was in shambles, but you didn't fix Disney. When are you going to fix Disney?

For the gamers, EA is a punching bag meme. In fact, It’s the most hated company for a decade or maybe more. If Andrew Wilson haves no idea what the consumers want in his current company, then he’s the same for the Disney fanbase.

The guy is the one who coined the phrase "single player games are dying" when they were experiencing another peak at the time. He haves a bad obsession with market and sales stats, and never reads the room, which makes him worse. He's hell bent with micro-transactions and HE was the guy who said Battlefront 2's loot boxes gave players a "sense of pride and accomplishment.”

If the current Disney culture is bad enough, then they’re gonna be way worse under him.

it’s not particularly clear to me what value any of these people actually bring to the companies they work for. that’s not to say they don’t add value, but as such I couldn’t tell you who’s going to be “good” and who will be “bad.”

What? How are these people making decisions? They not only lack creativity but can’t even listen to the fandoms

You certainly don't need a CEO that "listens to fandoms." Fandoms lack imagination and don't know what they actually want - they just like what they've seen so far, which is why they're fans.

For a company like Disney, you need a CEO who is inspired by the Disney school of storytelling and understands the storytelling process -- basically, someone who loves being creative and creativity itself without needing to be creative as a primary occupation -- all in addition to being an exceptional manager and delegator. It's not an easy job.

Let’s make movies people don’t like that works like Wish, lightyear, and literally take the MCU from the most exciting movie experience to just filler films that keep setting up characters and plots then just forgetting about them.

I’m not saying make fan films, but make more Rogue ones over rise of sky walkers

But if you want the EA CEO over people who actually like going to theme parks watching movies and shows then cool

I heard today that Tony Baxter left the redo of Splash, I’m sorry when you have Tony Baxter leaving a project he volunteered for you know your leadership is not the best

You certainly don't need a CEO that "listens to fandoms." Fandoms lack imagination and don't know what they actually want - they just like what they've seen so far, which is why they're fans.

Which is literally listening to the Fandom...Theme parks fans want more rides like Pirates, Mystic Manor and Haunted Mansion. It doesn't have to be a clone just made in those style and people love it

Same with Star Wars. Why does Mando and Rogue One work because the directors/writers care and aren't just trying to make "x" characters to market or make to click some check box that some person has. Mando season one is soooo quiet and its great, its feels like Classic star wars and Rogue one feels classic with a little adult tones that they then went to 100000 with with Andor and made a Game of Thrones Star Wars show (in terms of the tone and writing that is almost poetry at times)

Mando season 3 and other animated shows at points for sure suffer when they go too far into what a Fan would right but Disney right now is limiting passion and it shows. Along with having IP's like the Muppets which they clearly have NO idea how to make work because the people in charge just want their money and never really get punished for making bland boring films and movies.

No. Walt famously didn't listen to fans. He made things fans didn't even know they wanted. Lasseter, for his personal faults, was largely the same way -- there's a reason Pixar avoided sequels (other than Toy Story 2, which has a unique history, and Cars 2, which everyone agrees was a mistake) for much of his tenure. Hell, if you listened to fans, you'd hear a bunch of racist, misogynistic, and otherwise bigoted drivel. Their money spends the same - so do we let them have their say?

I'm not saying Disney currently isn't experiencing leadership problems -- it is, obviously. Basically every major studio is right now, and that's in large part because of seismic changes and uncertainties brought about not only by streaming (and the lie it foisted on previously profitable businesses) but also the end results of "infinite growth" capitalism and private equity vultures. Changing the guy at the wheel only does so much to solve the root issues you're describing.

and this is perhaps the greatest rebuttal to “put a fan in charge” as the vast majority of Star Wars TV projects have been … not good. I’m not rooting for a blood sucking efficiency monster, but as @Clive says, none of these companies are nailing this right now.

Gotta say, after getting burned by picking the company's most infamous nickel-and-dimer, it'd be a massive own goal to turn around and pick the EA guy. IIRC Comcast also almost went with this guy for NBCU but backed off once they actually talked to him.

Andrew Wilson monetize it's games to death, doesn't give a hoot about their customers and is horrible for the EA employers. I'd say it's a stable continuation of the current reign and a perfect fit for Iger and his board of directors. If you want someone who cares about what Disney once was about, he's the worst.

This is the key. Either end of the spectrum is bad -- asking fans exactly what they want or giving fans what (you ultimately find out) they don't want. Neither work.

Indeed, what is magic is when you give fans something they didn't know they wanted. It's about stretching the thing fans are familiar with in a creative way just enough to surprise and delight them -- and not so much you lose them. Knowing how much is "just enough" is what separates out the geniuses.
