I see comparisons of Celestial Park characters like Captain Cacao to Figment. But since Figment got his launch in an attraction (unlike the Celestial Park characters), wouldn't a more analogous comparison be Duffy the Disney Bear? Created by Imagineering and essentially launched in a gift shop in Tokyo DisneySea, a similar origin. Also, at least as far as Captain Cacao and Duffy...they're both bears.

I think Orange Bird is a better comparison— a mascot created to sell product.

Not at all to be argumentative, but Orange Bird was created for the Florida Citrus Commission, the sponsor of the Enchanted Tiki room...so it has some creation-dynamics (external sponsor, attraction tie-in) that are different from Duffy or Celestial Park characters (both also created explicitly to sell products), which I would contend are more similar. Anyway, this is all nuanced and not very consequential I realize.

The music really adds to this ride, watching the animals dance to the music is really soothing on ride and off and I was pretty transfixed on them lol. Definitely something i’d ride again if the wait wasn’t more than 10 minutes, opposed to something like Kang and Kodos or Caro-Suess-El

Noticed a few things in a recent Ivo drone video:

1. Check out the brass-painted HVAC on top of the Atlantic restaurant. Fancy!
BrassHVAC.png

2. Looks like they're giving at least some of the green roofs an aged patina. Love it!
CelestialRoofPatina.png

3. I wonder what these two posts are for near Constellation Carousel? Maybe another sign?

4. This circular spot looks like it's begging for a giant bronze statue of...Captain Cacao!

The vast majority of the portal photo-op photos on social media look kinda bad.

I’m hoping there’s a plan to make a permanent location that gives the photographers a good composition to work with, because most of the photos so far are of the concrete in front of the portal or the dark tunnel of the portal itself.

I was really disappointed with my photos, cropped in a way to make it look like I could be anywhere. I’m chalking it up to Universal doesn’t want pictures of the actual portals from ground level getting out via that avenue yet.

I hope that’s it, but it would also be a weird reason given that Universal controlled the release of these photos. Maybe a key improvement will be training + removing that overbearing filter. There’s at least one photo from Adventuring with Annie in front of the SNW portal that looks good.

The planter in front of Berk’s portal looks rough, though. Kinda ruins those photos.

This is why test and adjust periods exist during soft openings.

I wasn't super excited with a few of mine but I'm still glad they had a way for us to capture the moment.

I was hoping we'd be able to take our own photos during the Family & Friends Preview but, alas, we're not there yet.

There's reasons for that but it's being addressed.

Heard a rumor that StarDust Racers has been non-operational as it's being tweaked due to the G's being a bit too rough on guests/TMs. Can anyone confirm?

No idea but I hope they leave the launches under the station alone.

I will say from my experience the back of VelociCoaster hits harder than Stardust Racers.

Sounds like you heard a lie buddy. The G's are not that powerful in each direction, negative or positive. Nor is anything on the coaster "rough". There is no graying out like on Intimidator 305 or thighs being crushed like on skyrush.

It was extremely windy Thursday. Not sure about Friday.

But no the coaster is fine. Seemed less intense or same as VelociCoaster to me. And I was scared to ride at first based on all these rumors of roughness. Nope, was perfectly fine.
