I was under the impression that DLR seemed at one point to be moving away from theater shows long term because they get stale with the APs coupled with recent union disputes.

I wonder if this is more of a temporary thing to account for lost capacity from the backlot closing for Avatar. Then once thats complete then the Hyperion goes for a 5th Avengers Campus attraction. By then they would have a decent grip on the post Secret Wars slate and should know what heroes get another ride.

Also DLR has a new person running the resort I believe

So could be both factors

In the FBD video and in the comments section, they were speculating DLRs new leadership was behind the decision to possibly bring back a production in the Hyperion.

Another morning visit to the park! Just a couple small things, beginning with a better photo of the corndog with the blueberry compote. I have been told by a reliable source that it is a very good breakfast food.
  • Every single effect is currently working on Indiana Jones. In its current state, it's truly one of the best theme park attractions on planet earth.
  • Construction is continuing on the Matterhorn. Lots of repainting happening, though I imagine there will be plussing on the inside, too.
  • Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer's Island is effectively standing but not operating. None of the effects are working, some caves are roped off, etc. Speculation: They're waiting for another IP to apply to this island or ... well, we saw what happened in Orlando.
  • All the effects were working on Tiana's Bayou Adventure, too. This is a really, really fun ride. Great energy, good music, etc.

Breakfast is served

Mountain construction in progress

A first for me: Genie walking around

Indiana Jones was running spectacularly in May, so this tracks. Even the pyro was going consistently across my two rides.

Sad to hear about Tom Sawyer's Island. The bilge pump hasn't worked in many years, so I think the fix must be expensive (it does involve water, I suppose) and they've given up on it. There was an extended period where the cave with effects and animatronics was sealed off, but I did get to visit with just about everything working a couple years ago. I'm guessing maintenance is stretched so thin that it just keeps falling down the list.

It will be interesting to see what the max time is and how it affect the other LL times

Right now GOTG and soarin go quicker because they are at half or less capacity
