If you guys think that you can make a new minions land and it will draw in the same amount of people as more Nintendo then cool

I can't argue with that. I just argue what I can with the data in front of me, USH has had more sold out dates this year then I can remember since Potter opened. Merch sells out, like the store at the end of the ride looks completely different from even two months ago because it sells out merch so much. The new movie just did amazing and broke records.

So if you guys want to continue to pretend like its just another IP cool, but I have numbers to back up why I want them more in the parks. Along with things people on here don't think about like them selling out on morning passes which I just don't think you can do with every IP

My real question is this if not DK and not another Nintendo IP? What realistic land do you see being build and getting more people into the park and spending money?

Jerrod, I get your point and it may be valid but I think for this to be a strong correlation, the land needs to open a bit longer for this to be a confident assessment.

There were many factors working for the land (COVID restrictions disappearing, increase in domestic/international travel, park being open for annual pass holders) that we can't simply state this is just because Mario. Potter had APs blocked out, SLOP and JW had to compete against the pandemic so we can't say OH obviously nintendo is the key.

Does Nintendo make Universal competitive sure? But that's you are just looking at IPs. But what makes Universal competitive is creating world class attractions and events. Waterworld is literally one of the popularist attractions in the world with GSATs scores high not only in California but Beijing and Japan. People care more about quality and enjoyment. HHN brings people worldwide to Universal because of the quality to the point some people will buy a day ticket plus pay another ticket just to do everything.

If DK doesn't come or another IP does come, as long as Universal doesn't create another supercharged, they will be fine.

I mean it feels like that both ways

My point is nothing in the history of USH since it's become a theme park has had the impact that SNW has. To just ignore this because people on here don't like or love nintendo to me would be foolish. Unless the movie just dies in it's second week it will be over a billion easy and most likely be the biggest film of this year. So I see little reason for any other IP to make as much as putting a DK land in next after FF coaster.

I'm open to people saying what would. Honestly if you have a better idea of what could be added and make it where USH is the most profitable/busy and have 10/10 themeing but I don't see that.

I mean JW is busy in the summer and just dies in the winter. SLOP is doing amazing but on busy days you can't even ride it past noon without an express pass because VQ tickets are all gone.
If this was in a vacuum you'd be right but
1) Zelda Tears of the Kingdom was voted at most places by fans as the most anticipated game of this year, with the last zelda game sweeping awards for best game of the year
2) Switch selling amazing not just during covid but being the number 3 best selling console ever. 122 million untis sold shows how strong the company still is as a game maker.
3) The Merch, extra crowds, and early entry selling out 9/10 days for the land
4) The Movie breaking all kinds of records

I love USH and it sucks feeling like I'm alive in wonderland where I see all these amazing stats from Nintendo and people on here pretending its just another IP.....its just more then that.

I'm a huge Nintendo fan. I'm literally on my Switch right now about to start up an indie game. But other than Pokemon (which Universal might not have the rights to yet), none of the other Nintendo IP's will bring in the crowds that Super Nintendo World is currently getting. The Nintendo crowds are already there. Of course, extra additions will help bring people back, but it's no longer going to be the brand new one of a kind thing it was when it opened.

Meanwhile, if you bring in a new IP to the park like Lord of the Rings or Universal Monsters, you capture a new audience that's visiting for that one IP. Rinse and repeat. That's how you build out a theme park: by concentrating on several different groups at one time.

Harry Potter was pretty massive. and no one is ignoring the impact of Super Nintendo world; you just need to be okay with the idea that other people don't love something as much as you do. who cares? that doesn't limit how much it matters to you.

As far as I can tell the Monsters IP is only really loved by fans. Can't remember the last time one was in a movie that people loved. Mummy from 1999 and we have a ride for that. We had mazes for years but they are gone because the lines sadly didn't do so well with current park goers.

I'd love Lord of the Rings but I've not a heard a rumor of that realistically coming to USH. But would be very much down for this IP at USH

I'm also not pushing for Just Nintendo, we get FF which for me is meh but I get it and im sure the ride will be fun. Then it should be DK and then I'd love to see Shrek get some love after its film out (hell we'd have Puss in Boots in the dreamworks theater now, If I was running things)
Then Id add Pokemon land.
Then Do a massive Redo to the Tram with a new ending that would be like the Great Movie ride but Universal themed. Then Zelda

I also think people here think Mario and Zelda are the same IP. They just aren't and you'd make massive amount of money from Shield backpacks, master swords, more power bands etc.

We'll see how Monsters does at Epic Universe. They are pretty iconic in pop culture, it's just that there hasn't been a good movie in years.

That's way too much Nintendo for one park. Orlando will likely be the only resort to get Zelda, due to Nintendo being spread across multiple parks. You have to capture different audiences.

I've had a few posters argue with me that because they are all in a simlair art style that they are the same and it would be boring for a part with Mario and Zelda because to them it was too much of the same IP.

Heck I think DK land which is the closest to mario looks so different that unless someone told you they were owned by the same people you'd never know. DK land is like Universal version of Adventure land

You can go up a post of two, I literally talk about how I'd have updated dream works theater, add Shrek when shrek 5 comes out, and even want to plus the tour to add a great movie ride style ending....so I do have other things Id love to see done.
Heck if we really did have the space without knocking other rides down I'd love a frankenstein castle coaster but....we aren't Florida. We have very limited room

I don't think anyone disagrees that more Nintendo wouldn't be popular, but there's just no way they put Mario/DK, Zelda, AND Pokemon in the same park. With USH being so small they have to be a bit more selective with what they put in the park. Something like Lord of the Rings, HTTYD, or Monsters would make more sense.

Hollywood will never be able to truly benefit from all these IPs until they have a second park, or at the very least a very big expansion.

Then that's on them. But the most USH will ever get is a Super Nintendo World expansion (either DK or something else Mario) and MAYBE Pokemon in the upper lot. They're never getting Zelda or anything else.

Nintendo phase 2 makes sense. Nintendo phase 2 might happen. Potter phase 2 makes sense. Potter phase 2 hasn't happened. They could've put a Potter phase 2 on the Lower Lot, but they chose Nintendo. They could put a Nintendo phase 2 elsewhere, but they might choose Lord of the Rings, or Monsters, or DreamWorks. USH needs anything it can get so as long as the attractions are good and add capacity, they'll probably be fine.

This discussion is pointless. Universal is not a Nintendo park. Universal will never be a Nintendo park. It's like saying in 2010 that Universal should focus on building only Potter expansions - that's just not realistic and, like what happened with Marvel and Star Wars movies, would cause property fatigue. Everyone knows who made these games, they're intrinsically attached to Nintendo. To argue otherwise is just disingenuous. More Nintendo is not the only takeaway from the crowds Universal is seeing right now. There's just so much more to discuss past that

Universal was making a Harry Potter Movie verse?

They are making a Nintendo movie universe, so there is a difference there

I also find it hilarious to see people trying to credit the recent crowds with anything None Nintendo, would the park have crowds? Yep, would they have this many sold out days and early entrance without Nintendo? Not a chance in heck.

While theme parks are up, no one is talking about sea world, knotts, six flags, lego land having this kinda success. Also DK land opens up SNW to have bigger capacities which means more early entry tickets to sell, I just see DK land as a win for everyone and will allow USH to take riskier steps in the future

You're missing the point. Universal will not be a Nintendo park. That is just not happening, like it or not. And, as we saw with Diagon, this success will NOT be mirrored in future Nintendo additions. DK is not a "win" for everyone if it takes up prime expansion space while offering little capacity in return. They can sell some more tickets, but not a lot. And sea world, knotts, six flags, legoland have never been competing on the same level as Universal/Disney, why would we bring them up?

Super Nintendo World's success isn't entirely based on the IP, more so the quality of the land itself. Universal really knocked it out of the park and it really feels like you're in that world. Since USH doesn't have a lot of space, it makes a lot of sense to do a large variety of properties and IPs. Not everyone who visits USH is a fan of Nintendo, and if that became the focus of the park a fair amount of people would feel alienated. What's most important to the future of the park is their willingness to invest in high quality attractions and experiences that maintain the high bar they've set in recent years.

Good lord. I go on vacation for two weeks, come back, and got excited to catch up on the thread(s), hoping there'd be something new to parse through, only to see the same exact circular "conversation" we've already been through a hundred times before. I don't know how many more times I can see the same exact points be made only to be ignored time and time and time again before I give up on holding out hope we can have a sustained conversation that isn't yet again derailed for the hundredth time by our resident Nintendo superfan, hah.

As I said earlier on this thread @Legacy said on Discord that Pokemon is being planned as a Simpsons replacement at USF. Maybe they are developing the same Pokemon attraction for Hollywood as well. Pokemon is a massive IP and the theme is broad enough that if they can Universal will want in every park they own. So it going on the upper lot replacing Simpsons would track IMO. I believe @Alicia mentioned a while back (correct me if i'm wrong) when Pokemon was still slated for KZ, one of the additions was a suspended coaster and some sort of omnimover where guests were on a safari and took pictures. Are these still on to some degree or will they do a totally new concept for this ride?
