can someone please remind to share how the layout for the mega expansion pad might work to create portals etc, it might help with the speculation. I have it almost completed but got distracted by another new park

While it's likely only one land is chosen (LOTR for example). You can also "take away" the pad from Potter for a 2nd portal. It'll look weird from a map perspective with that long walk, but its doable. (It's also a heck of a walk, so I hope they do excellent theming and make it clear to guests how far you need to go lol)

I would guess that KFP area is going to be reserved for a future Potter expansion, so that area will be entered via the present Potter land. I'd also imagine the Nintendo expansion area will be the first expansion, Potter second and that expansion area where LOTR is listed being very far in the future. Most likely a decade, or more, away. By then there might be more relevant to the times IP.

Oh I'm sure my KFP area is more Potter, but this is just a scenario to show they can fit two portals if they don't see a need to expand Potter.

Crucially, Dark Universe needs to be first and then Nintendo. Even thought it'll probably be Nintendo first since that's where the money is.

I don't know if talking about ride specifics is stupid since I wouldn't know if it would be possible. But if they went through Luigi's Mansion route this would be a great way to go about it.
Placed between Dark Universe and Super Nintendo World.
The exterior would look like this almost done to a tee:1200px-LuigiMansion.png

It'll be similar to Disneys Haunted Mansion, with manor on a hill and the windows of the Manor can be designed to be screens where they can display the lights flickering and or ghost silhouettes walking by. A bunch of dead trees to hide the back building that houses the inoor ride.

Perhaps it could incorporate the shooting aspect that Men in Black has where you catch the ghosts. You get taken through the classic rooms from the first game. Even an outdoor area (but still inside the building).

I see where youre going with this but your scaling is off those show buildings would be like Boeing Factories, that space is a lot bigger than most think

Yes, my scaling is a bit off, was just meant to be representative of how they can use that space in terms of angles/pathways.

I agree with you that this area can be saved off for two IPs/portals (or one IP with various environments).

Regarding whether they would give up the expansion space at Potter for a different IP... I'm assuming the contracts/negotiations Universal has had with Nintendo and Warner Bros states specifically the amount of acreage and placement they are dedicating to current and potential future expansions. I'm guessing the expansion pad for Potter had a specific line in their contract stating that space will be used for Potter.

Guessing: plus, there may well be covenants in the contract that automatically extend the contract's time frame as expansions are built. That would be in Universal's interest since they have a huge dependence on the Potter IP staying for a long duration.

Looking at that potential long walk to get to the furthest expansion pad world, maybe they should consider a Skyway from Celestial Park to a station between the two new portals. I can imagine a Skyway done in the Celestial Park thematic style (steampunk-ish flying orbs with spinning propellers?) being pretty fantastic.

It's 3 acres. It's not big enough for a land or another IP more importantly it's next to a 21 acre expansion plot, as I've demonstrated that's more than enough room for two lands

To play Devil's Advocate / steel man the opposition... Skull Island is less than 3 acres. I'm not saying this would happen, but there are people who think this could happen, specifically because they want zero additional Potter.

Even if not contractual, it would be a hard sell to not build more Potter on land that WB knows was already set aside for more Potter.

You really don’t want to piss off WB, and that’s one way to for no good reason.

I'm not saying this is at all likely, and I think it's really really stupid, but, it's a non-zero chance. To me, what the contract says is important.

If Universal is not contractually obligated to use Potter, they could suggest another WB IP to appease WB (without needing to speak with Rowling).

Or, if Universal is not contracted to use the space in a specific timeline, they could sit on that space for the next twenty years. Then in twenty years, when we're all using flying cars and taking vacations on the moon, who knows if Universal even cares about pissing off WB. We might laugh at the thought, like we would laugh at Universal pissing off 21st Century Fox today. And then we get Skull Island 2.0.

Again it's really silly. But in the mind of someone who says "absolutely no more Potter!" it's really the only argument IMO.

It’s a Potter expansion plot. I don’t see it being used for anything but Potter.
