Problem with having a legacy two park pass is I can never really upgrade without screwing my price up. Hopefully they offer an epic AP only.

I went from two-park to three-park pretty smoothly when it came out.

Now the trick will be to get this next upgrade right. Especially when people (like me) want to drop VB.

Both can be true, I think. Obviously I don't know about the North Campus AP claim; but I struggle to see how they fit APs and TMs in Epic as it exists alongside single-day guests. I was wondering if Epic would see a pre-HHN season attendance drop a few months back, and it never happened. Epic is as jam-packed as ever with not enough high-capacity attractions to make for a comfy visit.

Unless they limit APs and TM passes to reservation only / after 4PM like has been discussed before, I can only predict that adding those groups would make visiting the park less enjoyable for everyone.

and....Universal is still limiting access with a mid twenties thousand daily ticket ceiling. The capacity problem is far reaching and will probably
cripple the AP base, which will ultimately hurt IOA and USF. Universal has quite the puzzle to solve.....Probably the reason there's so many AP surveys circulating. But they're not going to be able to retain AP'ers with stuff like free magnets and one night events.

Interesting how all the possible perks listed in surveys never included adding Epic as part of the pass… only “additional discounts on single day Epic Universe tickets” and here we are.

Or so I’ve heard.

That says a lot.......And, as the AP membership numbers sink into the sunset, how does Universal replace that very significant number of
USF and IOA guests. That low Epic capacity, for whatever reason be it budgets or to sell lots of Express passes, was very shortsighted.

The AP surveys circulating around that I've seen now are mostly tied to UOAP appreciation month. I think they're just trying to figure out what people actually want out of it and what will draw folks in. (Lots of talk about UC interviews, more UOAP nights, etc.)

Universal has a vested interest in selling Annual Passes with Epic Universe... especially by the time Disney's investments start to open in 2027.

Just disappointing as an avid Universal fan that I won't be allowed in with an AP until who knows. Shame the park was not built with capacity in mind.

I'm just glad they're finally adding it to the multi-day passes the right way and cutting out the "one day at Epic" nonsense.

I imagine a lot of this in Orlando (and SoCal, frankly) is cyclical, yeah? A family might have Disney passes for a couple years, drop those and then move to Universal for a couple years and so on and so on. So while it wouldn't surprise me to see the number of Universal APs drop, I don't see any reason to think that's permanent. Give Epic a little more time to improve its reliability and by the time they add a new attraction, perhaps they'll feel comfortable adding it to annual passes.

Myself, I'm fine with IOA and USF for AP, as long as there's no big price hike. I enjoy vacationing on site at the North Campus, and
probably wouldn't do Epic more than once or twice over a long vacation anyway. And, as a tourist that takes long vacations at Universal, the
AP hotel rates are more important to me than Epic. I'm comfortable staying on site and not having to travel to parks, like at WDW. But
I'm probably a small minority. Universal had a large increase in AP's the last few years, and most of that was probably in anticipation
of Epic, and was probably largely locals. Those are the ones that will probably let their passes expire. Some of the long time local AP's
might stay, some will leave. But I doubt they'll get more than a small amount of new AP's.
Bottom line though, I think they'll lose a significant number of APH once their passes expire. If Universal would have built the park with adequate
capacity, none of this would be necessary.

I've always assumed the same for locals - switch year over year. I know I couldn't afford to do both in a year, so I'm sure an average person would do this.

And of course.. once Epic is added to APs, it's safe to assume they'll spike right back up.

When we had a home in Orlando we always had one resort per year. So it would be Disney, than Universal, the third year Sea World and a year no annual pass to visit Cape Canaveral, Bush Gardens, Tarpon Springs, Gator Land, Cypress Gardens or many of the other offerings like the Dali Museum in Tampa or the Ringling Museum in Sarasota to name a few. Going to a theme park every week takes something away, makes it less special.

This is a wild guess, but perhaps when there is more comp ticket availability for team members.

Yes. I live a few minutes from Kennywood, and I'll go through stages where I don't visit for a few years. Sometimes too much gets old quick.
The Orlando vacations work for me because they're spurts of visiting the parks heavily, then nothing for 6 or 12 months. ....Always reminds me of
the I Love Lucy routine where Lucy loves candy, gets a job on a candy wrapping line, then hates candy because she had too much of it. .....
One reason I go to WDW for vacations sometimes instead of Universal, just to refresh.
The big Universal advantage is that I enjoy the campus feel of walking to CityWalk and the other onsite hotels so much. We don't over spend time in the parks, most days just 4 to 6 hours, and some days no time in the parks themselves.

When I lived in Florida, I kept my Universal annual pass active from 2011 until the pandemic while Disney tended to be an every other year situation with the 4 day FL resident deal and one of the MK parties on the off years. Now that I'm out of state, I really didn't spend much time at either resort in 2023 (2 days at Disney in the spring when I had to come down for family stuff + 5 days in the fall between both resorts) or 2024 (last year was literally just an extended weekend I crammed in for the final HHN nights).

This is the first year I've had both annual passes living out of state. I knew this was going to be an Orlando heavy year for me with Epic opening, but when hotel rates and flights are cheap, there's an incentive to come down for a few days and spend significantly less than other quick weekend trips. I'm coming next week for a few final HHN nights and will just work during the day (an ok compromise when I can't take time off right now), which is something I wouldn't have done without having an AP / AP hotel rates.

I'm on the fence about renewing both next year. I have other travel plans in mind for the spring, and without any new additions at the legacy parks (plus construction and refurbishments), there's not a burning desire for me to visit ahead of HHN next year. Disney at least has a lot of additions coming next year, but the cost of entry is much higher.

If Epic's capacity really is a problem for adding AP's to the mix, I wonder if, as a short term solution, they could offer an "Epic Nights AP". A couple nights a week, close the park at 6 and let those AP's in from 6-12. Kind of a splitting the baby solution, but it might string things along until they can increase capacity.

Do we have any reason to actually believe that they are bleeding passholders? The stuff I keep seeing on here is my friend canceled their pass so therefore passholders are leaving in droves. From all the data I am seeing, USF and IOA are doing fine. When it comes to Epic universal would rather have a park full of day guests than a park split with day guests and passholders.

Alternatively, they could offer an Epic add on which includes a certain number of visits per year which need to be booked in advance?

Or, just allow passholders to buy bundles of Epic tickets at a discounted rate. It currently costs substantially less to buy a five day park to park ticket that includes unlimited visits to Epic than the same number of discounted AP tickets.

Personally, I gambled on Epic being added to APs at the beginning of next year and it looks like I’ve lost. My wife and I renewed our three park APs a few months ago when we could have just let them expire and bought the UK fourteen day ticket which includes unlimited access to all four parks for just under $660 each including tax.

We’re coming over for 14 nights in March and if we want to visit Epic more than three times the most cost effective way is to buy the fourteen day four park ticket regardless, effectively making our APs redundant.

I completely understand the capacity concerns regarding allowing APs unlimited access to Epic at this point, but it does feel like passholders are currently being offered worse deals than non passholders.
