I'm still not sure you understand what all will be involved with the Hogwarts Express attraction. It's MASSIVE in scale, chocked full of state of the art electronics, and has multiple ride profiles. Not too mention, two full sized trains and two fully themed train stations.

Is Hogwarts Express going to be better than Hippogriff? Yes, so not a C-ticket.

You are comparing apples to oranges though. BTMRR and SDMT can be directly related, they are both highly themed family coasters.

The HE and HPatFJ cannot be directly related. One is a going to be a highly themed way to move between parks (not going to add in anything that insiders say here, just what Universal has officially announced. It should be much more than this though), and the other is a dark ride using Kuka arms.

If somebody would have compared SDMT to, let's say, Soarin', that would be more like your comparison. They are completely dissimilar.

So IMO it is a D-ticket. Sure it will be a cool and awesome experience, but not anything thrilling or setting the bar for themed attractions. It will be like a calmer version of Spiderman or Transformers. Even if the developers are calling it an E-ticket, that doesn't really mean anything. It just means they are trying to build hype for the attractions like they are supposed to.

Same thing with Seven Dwarfs. It is a D-ticket, and NF won't be as good as the Harry Potter expansion because it has no E-ticket. HP will have two rides better or just as good as Seven Dwarfs, so the area will be better.

I'm not trying to diss HP or anything, I just can't see Hogwarts Express being an E-ticket. That doesn't mean it won't be a great attraction though.

I am using facts. Seven Dwarfs we know is a shorter track than Thunder Mountain, so it is a fair comparison and it is fair to say it won't be as good. I LOVE thunder mountain and so does everyone I know. It is one of those can't miss rides to most people. Which is the very definition of E-ticket. The one thing Seven Dwarfs has going for it is the unique car design and if this unique design works out and it becomes a more thrilling ride than previously thought and it becomes the can't miss attraction, I will change my vote. But as of now I think it is fair to call it a D ticket ride.

You are trying to compare two rides that are not even open and say one is better than the other. When in reality HE and Gringotts seem to be about equals. Different ride systems, different experiences, but when it comes to how many people will like them and how thrilling they are, they sound equal. Since neither is open, it is really hard to say that one is more or less thrilling than the other. The only thing we know is HE won't have a height restriction, but Gringotts will. But that is more due to motion and restraints. Just because HEs motion will not be as thrilling, doesn't make the ride less thrilling. You also sound like HE won't be innovating, which how you get that idea is beyond me. Name one theme park that has anything like HE in it. It will be extremely innovating.

Imagine if you will . . . HE will some what resemble something like this ride at Ocean Park in Hong Kong except on Steroids and of course themed to Potter from head to toe.

The Hogwarts Express will very much be an E-Ticket.

I am not sure why you wouldn't consider it an E-Ticket.

Yup I was at Ocean Park last year. It's a glorified Monorail - but it does its job well and the station has a cool Jules Verne like vibe that is actually pretty well themed compared to other things at the park.

That said, I agree HE is more of a distant relative in that they are both trains and they actually mass transport guests - but that will be it.

They had to really convince guests to ride it because everyone wants to just take the gondolas across the mountain instead. I have a feeling HE will have no problems with getting people on it...

The whole E-Tickect, C-Ticket, X- ticket arguement seems to go around and around on theme park boards. Just because the 7DMT only has a few show scenes, and may not have a super long track does not mean the ride will be "less worthy". It's obvious that Disney is spending a lot of time and money on this ride, and Im sure it will meet at least someones expectations, just not everyones, or those folks that have a permanant grudge against everythuing Disney does or doesnt do.

It's another Fantasy land ride, starring Snow White, not giant robots or wizards. It's a tad less thrilling just in subject matter alone.

I don't really think length has anything to do with what ticket a ride woudl get. I don't think there is really a cut and dry system on what ticket a ride woudl get. Its really varies from person to person on what they think ticket a ride should get and gets real fuzzy with rides that aren't clear cut E tickets like TOT or Splash.

The term E-ticket would refer to a draw of an attraction since the basis was on what guests would be willing to see top dollar for and not miss out on. The ones that were are mostly the more timeless and iconic rides today.

So if you hear about it or see it on an ad, you make it a must do because it is an attraction that got you to go in the first place.

Some fans do indeed take it too far.

The whole ABCDE-ticket mentality is ridiculously overused. A lot is based on personal opinion. Disney and Universal fans could argue all night and day what's considered an E-ticket, and the conversation goes nowhere. Simply put, I don't think it matters what letter you put in front of it, 7DMT is going to be a major draw. Easily the biggest and most popular attraction in Fantasyland. It may not thrill the Potter fans out there, but I know I'm forward to riding 7DMT.

Mermaid doesn't often have 90 minute waits. Only peak times if it does. But there's a reason for it and it's because there's FP on a ride that simply doesn't need it.

Indeed. I was just 2 weeks ago in DCA, and there Mermaid had a maximum wait of 10 minutes.

If it is then they would want to get cracking, at this rate it wont be finished for another year. I have to say though Disney's extremely long build cycles really make it boring to watch, I don't know how those major Disney fans can handle it.
