Ever.

I don't agree with this statement. Because I sometimes think the placement of something means it would be better to replace a ride and then build another one somewhere else. Technically we did not lose numbers in ride count. But like others have said, if they did more with the new FLE then none of us would be complaining about this. I wish they had more rides in the FLE because it is a lot of rock work in the area already opened and looks huge, but only has one ride so far.

DL's Fantasyland is special because of all the old school dark rides it has. Thanks to this meet and greet we have 2. Two. Disneyland has 5. FIVE. It's embarassing. If they wanted a permanent place for the princesses, it should have either gone in the old Skyway plot, or they should have built Fantasy Fair back in Storybook Circus.

Also, the FLE is a pretty piss poor expansion if it's not expanding the ride count.

See I really did not care for Snow White... so I guess that is why I care less. It was a ride that I rode about once every 10 trips. I like old rides like the everyone else, but that to me was worse than the others.

I don't care if it stayed Snow White. But all means, replace it. But replace it with a ride.

But then that goes against your point that they took out an old ride and that they should keep more.

Again, I think if they did FLE correctly we all could care less that they replaced a ride with a M&G. It is a perfect location for it and the size of the building would have led to another weak ride.

Not an old ride. And school-type ride. Pooh isn't an old ride, but it's an old school ride.

SWSA wasn't weak. And size doesn't matter. DL's FL dark rides show that. I don't care what else they did with FLE. Replacing a ride with a M&G is a mistake.

What I've always been curious of is why couldn't they have expanded Fantasyland out even further? If you rerouted the service road and relocated the retention pond in this photo, that would leave a pretty decent amount of room.

Then again, there might be something about that area that I don't know about.

Problem with that area is fireworks fallout. There could conceivably be a showbuilding there, though.

Too bad disney is sitting back laughing estatically at your logic right now. Disney knows why kids come to disney. Is disney hurting from adding these M&G? Absolutely not. Disney knows exactly what it is doing. I saw people willing to wait in line 40 minutes for a photo op but would not wait that long for peter pan...

I worked at the Magic Kingdom. The % of guests going through a meet and greet is so small that in fact, kids are not coming to Disney for meet and greets.

Which is why Peter Pan has a 45 minute wait everyday, right?

More people go through Pan than a meet and greet every. single. day.

I'm surprised no one had mentioned it yet. Pic on the AP page the yesterday is pretty cool. Also, while the cars don't seam overly-generous size wise, to me they don't look as cramped as everyone was making them out to be, either. Looks similar to BTM cars, to me.

Seems like they are just trying to do anything to hype this thing. From the picture, it didn't even look (and just judging from the one picture) like it was a REAL test. Just looked like they finally got that thing out there and around.

Skipping back a page, I agree with both JungleSkip AND the Izzy to a certain degree. A lot of people very much come for meet and greets. Character dinners do well. Lines for characters are usually pretty long (whether or not the guests have any clue who said characters are). They know a lot of people come for M&Gs and that is why there are PLENTY of them everywhere. I'm not in favor of dozing a ride for M&G though. It's one thing to take advantage of a permanently downed ride for a M&G (like BoakDock at DAK), that's all good, but there is no short supply of new M&G areas (Belle, Mickey, Pete's, Grotto, Princesses) and very short supply of new ride areas. They have almost two new rides...and for little kids. They need to wake up.
