I'm not buying the thing about it being designed to have to explore to find attractions, since in the original plan, the backside (UTS:JOTLM and BOG) is just as it is now, but it wasn't blocked by a hill. And there were several changes to the plan along the way, not just swapping out Lady Tremain's Chateau for 7DMT. There was the axing of Pixie Hallow too.

they are most likely back peddling, but I don't really care, I think it's cool that the attraction is "kind of" hidden. Once the new mountain is done I think a lot of people will be less hard on it.

I would have axed the Seven Dwarves mine train in lieu of more filled and lush Beauty and the Beast and Little Mermaid lands. Right now, it's a very close and tight mess. This sense of discovery doesn't necessarily happen too well because there's such a clash in themes in terms of proximity. When you're looking at something in the distance, you want it to actually be in the distance. When you're coming across a village, you want there to be small huts and forced perspective, and perhaps something looming in the distance. Notice that Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley both accomplish this, and Animal Kingdom, despite its flaws, does this just as well (and maybe even better - look at Serka Zong). New Fantasyland is just half-assed, and no justification can truly give me the idea of true impression and discovery as I'm walking through it. It's pretty, but that's pretty much it.

I think it is half baked because nothing fits together. It looks like a lot of ideas thrown into one area of the park. The Seven Dwarfs ride is horribly situated and blocks the Little Mermaid. The project has been changed numerous times if you look at the ever changing concept art. But I do think they are doing a great job but I think the whole idea behind the expansion is wrong and horribly thought out.

See this is where Uni and Disney have different styles. Uni doesn't announce a project for a long time or release concept art, because all parks make changes, some minor, some major. So this is not a bad thing or something that makes it half baked. Also, the areas were thought out and make sense. You have the circus on the outskirts and then you have the detailed rock work areas all together in the "new" part. Rides hide each other all the time this allows them to build more things. The actual area is going to be really nice once it is complete. My main complaint (and I think everyone's main complaint) is that it is taking way to long to finish and they had a grand opening with a major piece not done and under visible construction.

I admittedly haven't followed NFL very well because I've never been impressed with the addition. But when were they a thing? And where would they have gone?

There was never a removal !!! It wasn't planned or announced so how can it be removed.

Universal puts a Springsfield sewer cover and people here go nuts. Then those people talk bad about the ones that get excited when they find peanut shells engraved into the floor around Dumbos circus area, saying they are high on pixie dust. Hypocrites.

People keep mentioning a mountain in the new Fantasyland area. Where is the new mountain? I see a hill, not a mountain. Two different things. So, can we not call 7D an E-ticket addition to the MK mountain range since it isn't an E nor a mountain?

The Seven dwarfs Mine Train is definitely a mountain (look at how vertical it is compared to horizontal). I personally think having the Beauty and Beast rockwork and Little Mermaid rockwork and also Snow White rockwork makes the area feel way less like a forest and way more like a canyon. The effect is overbearing and makes you feel trapped. The Little Mermaid ride should face a body of water not a huge mountain range. I just don't like how it creates a wall between Fantasyland and ruins sight lines. Huge rides with mountain facades should not be placed in the center of a land but on the sides . It just shows how thrown together this expansion is. I do love the whimsicalness of it all though !

Officially, no, but I've heard they were planned for in some state. Just trying to highlight how the project was cut over time, both before announcement and after.

Yeah, I agree that this is a VP justifying a decision with grand prose. Mark W. does it, Rohde has done it, and I do it all the time with clients. You hide what you don't want to do, or spend the money to do, and foof it up with how much better everything will be because of your (force found) clever decisions.

It's not done yet? Wow, I swear I didn't know. The scaffolding didn't give that away. Oh and when completed, I will still only see a mound/hill, not a mountain.

Nah, it's a hill.

Leave it to WDW fans to make mountains out of mole hills.

Yea, its still not done. I had a feeling you didn't know what you were talking about until I posted those pics. Even if it's a hill, it's a good looking hill. Also, if you didn't know, Florida is relatively flat, so when the surface of the earth is above 30 feet or more, it's like a mountain to us many floridians. If you want mountains, there are many up north or there is one down the highway at IOA that has this white building sticking out from the back. Lmk if you can't see it.

You took me serious that I didn't know it wasn't done? I'm no idiot like you are trying to make me out to be by posting utter nonsense about this attraction not being done. I can see pictures pretty clearly. Get your panties out of the bunch that they are in. This is a hill. When completed, it will still be a hill. Are you really tying to justify you being wrong by quoting Florida's flat land? Wow, just wow.

And how do you know it looks nice? it is a bunch of scaffolding and mesh for rock work. If this is already a good looking hill (it's not since it isn't done), then Diagon Alley is already a work of art.

Fear not, no popcorn needed (unless it is movie theater popcorn swimming in gross amounts of butter). That was my last word on it. 7D is a hill, no one can convince me otherwise, no matter what Disney or the Mommy Bloggers or Lifestylers Or WDW fans on forums want to call it.

A picture is only 2 dimensional so you can't see the other side of the mountain/hill. However, on the other side, a small piece has already been completed showing off the texture and color. Some pines were even planted but I think later taken out to continue the slow paced construction. You might wanna take off your leggings and take off your helmet Thor, it my be constricting blood flow to your head.

And finally, here is the definition of a mountain, "an elevation of the earth surface rising more or less abruptly from the surrounding level and attaining an altitude which, relatively to the adjacent elevation, is impressive or notable."
