Without arguing whether HRRR should or will be replaced at some point.......does anyone think that general footprint would be a good spot for a new Furious attraction? For some reason I picture a screen based first half of the ride and then a launched coaster style finale. I know that is different from Hollywoods new Furious attraction.......but I think that this would be the perfect replacement for HRRR and the perfect spot for it.

Ideally, that'd be awesome.

That's what I'm hoping for in Orlando's. I'm sure the standalone screens are great, but an outdoor segment would be even better.

Well the ride is not built yet so we don't know if there are any outdoor/major coaster portions yet

If Disaster/Beetlejuice are demolished for a new building, they'd have a ton of room to work with.

Worth noting, someone tweeted me saying that Supercharged apparently ends at the port of Los Angeles. Could be easy to theme the exit when you walk out with the lagoon right there.

Anyone know what the measurements are of the Disaster/Beetle Juice area in relation to F&F Hollywood?

Here are the two locations placed next to each other. With a few turns it can fit.

Something comparable can definitely fit in that plot of land. Even if you devote 40k of square feet for queue and maintenance.

I photoshopped Gringotts and Mummy's showbuildings into the Disaster and Beetlejuice area, buildings that size can easily fit with some room to spare. Considering the Orlando version probably won't be as long as Hollywood's, the screen portion can easily be mixed in with a coaster section. I'd imagine the entrance would be at the Beetlejuice courtyard and the exit where Disaster's entrance currently is. The building would probably be larger and thus could need a higher facade. How cool would it be for the vehicle to go from facade to facade?

So it appears there's enough room to do Hollywood PLUS some extra stuff to differentiate from a pure screen based ride. Something along the lines of Orlando Kong's improvement to the Hollywood Kong attraction. Additions like TP4Life's idea of an outdoor section or extra indoor experiences that aren't purely screen based. Possibilities abound.

Consider this. Whichever park seems to get an attraction after the original, there's always improvements. Whether they be slight or major. I totally expect F&F to up the ante that is set by Hollywood, one way or the other.

Yea, I don't know what all the handwringing is about. Nearly every ride or land that is cloned is improved in one way or another. Our Kong, USH's Springfield/Despicable Me, etc. The only thing I can think of that wasn't significantly improved was USF's Transformers, and even that has a better exterior (albeit not by much).

The word is San Fran will be flattened for this. All of San Fran. If that's the case, they have big plans.

Okay, so are we assuming that the waterpark and Fast and Furious will be Uni's answer to Avatarland?

If so, that seems like a reasonable timetable and having both going will be a good draw as some will not care about a waterpark.

My guess for the next few years. I don't know timelines, so this is mostly an educated guess on my part:

2015 - Raptor show/M&G, NASCAR replacement/Brewpub/Sports Bar, ET Refurb (WILD guess on that one)

2016 - Kong, Sapphire Falls, Redone Hulk project, Something in KidZone (another speculative guess)

2017 - Wondersea/Volcano Bay, Fast and Furious USF, Fallon Simulator/New York placemaking

There's other wildcards that could be in there. Like whatever is going to happen to Marvel to follow the Hulk project and such, but my guess is that doesn't come until 2018-ish. But the way Universal is making money with both the studio and the parks, who the hell knows what they're gonna do.

Maybe I'm misremembering, but I thought Teebin had alluded to that in the past.

I don't believe the water side will be touched at all. Too, I wouldn't be surprised if the false building facades and toilets remain. So, yes, all of BJ and Disaster and perhaps even the security building... gone. Of course I heard all of this a year ago... so who knows.
