Vegan Marketplace at Epcot Food and Wine Festival

The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival this year will introduce the first ever vegan-only “TERRA” marketplace, which will include dishes like this “Trick’n Chick’n” Curry with Basmati Rice.

Stay tuned for more details about this exciting development. Here’s hoping nothing changes!

As always, Disney Food Blog is YOUR SOURCE for the most detailed information about the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. Check out our 2012 Epcot Food and Wine Festival Page for all the latest!

I would definitely check out Smash Mouth and Blues Travelers, the rest are the regulars of the event, but don't be surprised if the vegan booth has hummus.

10/13-10/14: Javier Colon, winner of “The Voice” (NEW)

I find it slightly interesting that a recent winner of a talent competition on a NBCUniversal network is performing at EPCOT and not Uni. Seems like Uni should have booked him. :inquisitive:

I'll show up for Smashmouth and for whatever day I happen to be there after that. Not too big of a fan of the vegetarian thing. I'd rather see the Haiti area come back from Flower & Garden.

Agreed, but you could also do what me and the wife do which is we each get one thing and we both try each others, if we like it, we get another one. We spend between BOTH of us about $150, but I drink and she doesn't, so that does help save some money, and I only drink the awesome beers they bring.

I hope they have the craft beer section again.

Thanks had no idea it was that pricy but it is Disney so...

The small dishes you get at the stands range between $4-$7 (usually) and it adds up rather fast. Add in alcohol and other expenses like admission, and you're gonna spend some money. It's worth it, IMO simply because of how diverse the selections are and overall just how enjoyable the event is.

Think Ill have to check it out

Latest Epcot Food and Wine Festival News

Ocean Spray-funded cranberry bog will return!

The French Regional Lunches (nicknamed “Frunches”) will not be returning in 2012 due to the renovations taking place at Bistro de Paris in Epcot’s France. These beloved events will return in 2013!

Celebrity Chefs returning this year include: Jamie Deen, Cake Boss Buddy Valastro, Andrew Zimmern, Robert Irvine, Gale Gand, Rock Harper, and More! There will be many new faces to find, like Erika Davis from Top Chef Just Desserts!

More “family-friendly” drinks like non-alcoholic smoothies and “Honest Kids” organic juices, which have half the sugar of regular fruit punches.

Two New Marketplaces: Vegan and Florida — debuting at the 2012 Epcot Food and Wine Festival!

3D Disney’s Dessert Discovery returns on select Fridays.

Marketplace Chef Tours will be led each Wednesday by a festival chef. This new tour will include five marketplace eats and five sips (including alcohol!).

New for 2012 — kid-friendly sips will pair with beef empanadas and cheese fondue in the family’s marketplace dine-around.

Party for the Senses returns on October 6, 13, 20, 27 and November 3. Bookings begin August 14, 2012. Call 407-WDW-FEST (939-3378)!

The festival adds a day this year - ending on November 12th rather than November 11th.

The Festival will debut a completely vegan marketplace as part of the World Showcase kiosks this year!

The French Regional Lunches will be held downstairs at Chefs de France this year (due to renovations at Bistro de Paris).

I've never checked out one of the chef events, or any sort of the event stuff at Food and Wine? Andrew Zimmern might be on my agenda, if not a beer tasting. Anyone ever done one of these?

Hi Jake. I've attended F&W the last couple of years and have just done one demo event by Rock Harper (Season 3 Hell's Kitchen winner). It was great and well worth the short change they charge. Have not done any of the Party for The Senses or special dinners yet. Hope to some day when out schedule allows. This year we are going at the end of September (my AP expires 9/30) and combining it with HHN. So it will be F&W for three days during the day and HHN for a couple of nights using ROF. I'm hoping demo details come out for F&W soon.

Out of curiosity what was the price range they charge?

The basic food demos held in the festival center run around $10. There are also little wine and beer tastings/walks that are different prices. I'll dig some stuff up from last year.

Here is a list of the demos from 2011.

Oh awesome, I honestly didn't realize that they they did these across the nation and I definitely didn't realize how affordable they are. Might have to check out a dessert or pastry one.
