I have honestly always thought a Halloween overlay every year would be a great fit. Simply changing the soundtrack to some spookier 70s and 80s hits would be enough for me.

  • Maniac - Michael Sembello
  • Thriller - Michael Jackson
  • Somebody's Watching Me - Rockwell
  • Don't Fear the Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult
  • I Ran - A Flock of Seagulls (this one can stay haha)
I think all of these songs are driving and up-tempo enough to work really well for this fast paced coaster personally.

So I'm a couple years late but I just rode Guardians of the Galaxy for the 1st time 2 days ago and I cannot stop thinking about it. This ride is as close to perfection as you can get and its the most fun I've ever had on a roller coaster. I even got the song i was hoping for (September). The dumb virtual queue system makes it almost impossible to get multiple rides and i'm still upset I was only able to do it once

I just rode it the other day and broke down on it for the first time. They just kept us in the dark for 10 minutes and then surprise launched us in the dark. 10/10 would recommend.

Also didn't know they added new songs or when... We got Disco Inferno by the Trammps and it was fun ride to it.

Disco Inferno has been one of the main six songs since opening.
The only new song the ride had was the short-lived Xmas song a few years ago.

That song has always been in rotation.

The song list is:
  • "September" by Earth, Wind and Fire
  • "One Way or Another" by Blondie
  • "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears
  • "Conga" by Miami Sound Machine
  • "I Ran (So Far Away)" by A Flock of Seagulls
  • "Disco Inferno" by the Trammps

Oh wow.. I knew about Blondie but never got it. It's so funny none of us in my group of 9 that rode that ever gotten Disco Inferno before. I was like wow... you would think the Disney Parks Blog would let someone know. :lmao:

Such is the nature of a ride with a random song, case in point during my trip this year, the two rides I was able to get had September. (Which I didn't mind, it's one of the better songs.) And conversely over on the West Coast with Mission Breakout!, I've been on that thing 16 times and still haven't gotten Free Ride.

And in the case of CR, it's even more tricky getting all the songs as you're only able to ride it a couple times due to the virtual queue.

I always thought it was a tremendously missed opportunity to not have Love Roller Coaster by the Ohio players in the roster.

I really can't wait for Test Track to reopen. Not for Test Track, but because we might finally get standby Guardians. It's been too long!

I think even then they’ll still keep VQ. I really hope I’m wrong. At this point there’s no reason to have VQ for this long. This is purely for financial gain.

It’s because they didn’t build enough queue.

That just isn't true. I'm pretty sure Tron has even less queue space than Guardians and it's off virtual queue now. Even if that were true, there are numerous days at Epcot where it wouldn't have too long of a line because of low crowd levels and they still keep it on Virtual Queue. If they really need the virtual queue because the queue space isn't long enough I think the best option would be to disable it on low crowd days just like the Nintendo World virtual queue

This just seems like the lie we’ve been fed by people defending the international conglomerate’s decisions. I remember people saying Tron could never have Standby because it would be 10 hour waits. Rise of the Resistance could never have standby because it’s not reliable enough. And yet those somehow are surviving.

If there’s not enough queue, they could just cut off the line when it gets too long. So I’m not buying it.

If there’s not enough queue, they could route it through the exterior walkways like Universe of Energy did in the early 1980’s. I’m not buying it.

When queues are long they self regulate. If you post 3 hours on the sign, less people will get in line. If people see a line spilling out a building, they’ll be less likely to jump in. The problem will most likely solve itself.

And if they didn’t build enough queue, it really calls into question why they could build a building that holds the volume of 5 spaceship earths and not think to save or expand the entire previous attraction’s building to hold a little more queue for their new upcoming, highly anticipated—first Marvel at WDW and first roller coaster at EPCOT—attraction.

(This isn’t directed at anyone in particular, I just don’t see how Virtual Line-only is necessary beyond the opening day, or maybe even opening week, let alone several years later.)

That’s what shovels are for.. They’ve had years to fix this if that was the issue, but it’s not. It’s pure corporate greed and with Disneys financial ignorance the last 2-3 years they’re doing it for profit pure and simple.

Glad you got to go. I finally got on earlier this year and I remember being giddy getting off the ride.

I have a better theory, and I think it's pretty crystal clear, this is what happens when you close PizzeRizzo. When you take away one of her most precious things, @Alicia is taking her gloves off. (All in good jest, of course.)
