Well if Dragons are gone, what's there to support? Tear it down and open the area.

It ‘bears’ the weight of what it supports so to say.

Any hints or clues at what exactly we are getting yet?

So here is my ideal expansion. I used the same show building as FJ for the new ride as an assumption of size. I also used the same buildings cut up in various ways to keep scale. Here it is without any notes:

hp-expansion.jpg

Here it is with notes:

The entrance to Hogsmeade stays in the same place, with the to/from of the Hogwarts Express the same way (I kept this because I don't think Universal would shut it down for an extended period of time).

6 - Old DD/DC entrance would be the entrance to the expansion
1 - the entrance from Hogsmeade to the Forbidden Forrest walk through and the new ride's entrance.
3 - Forbidden Forrest walk through area, with the wall that used to hide DC from people exiting Hogwarts Express demolished so you can see the Forbidden Forrest and the Shreaking Shack in the back, which is the ride Facade
2 - New Ride with SS facade, and queue through interior of SS as well as FF (similar to E.T.)
4 - Sit down restaurant similar to Mythos
5 - relocated smaller stage, with large area in front for viewing and no paths to block
7 - expanded castle show viewing area
8 - raised platform / possible eating location for up charge viewing of castle shows

I don't think I forgot anything... rushing to get this up so I can leave work.

That's pretty cool, although if it's a coaster I expect larger show building

It would be cool if they could build one more row of Hogsmeade style buildings on the dragon side and have one or two shops there as lure as well.

It's just money. Hell while they're at it they should tear down a bearing wall. I'm not sure which bearing wall but find one and tear it down.

I can't imagine that Hippogriff would go anywhere. Just not enough ROI to rebuild a coaster 20-30 feet away just for better sightlines, especially considering the aforementioned JP arch debacle. I do think that they'll recoup some area on the other side of Hippogriff though and that should help.

Part of me wishes that there could have been a lightly themed coaster and a dark ride, instead of the coaster we're getting. I don't want this to basically be Diagon Alley 2.0

Who said this would be DA2.0? As far as I can see, I would highly doubt that it would be that, even if the Hogsmeade extension is a thing that is happening.

I meant DA2.0 as in only getting a ride basically. I wish lands would focus on the rides themselves, instead of trying to make it super immersive. Land focus is good, but it only works to a certain extent.

I would honestly disagree with that statement, from what I have atleast heard.

I would very much say, to wait and see; as I don't expect the Forbidden Forest to have a similar problem to what Gringott's has. And mentioning on the land aspect, I would argue Diagon acted more as an experience with the Hogwarts Express acting as a way of almost seamless cohesion between the two lands.

Yeah, from Bio's pics, it's definitely a rip, tear, kill job. DC is headed to the scrap heap.

So will the sound barrier wall serve any purpose going forward?
